5 wide

Hi I'm new here and I just wanted to know if anyone else is having some trouble stopping the 5 wide receiver look on defense? If someone could give me some tips on that it would be great. I've never really had a problem with it before, but this year... idk. I use mostly Alabama or Ole Miss if that helps. Thanks.

Havn't seen the computer run 5 wide very often but I know its unstoppable against another human opponent, hopefully it wont be abused too much

Re: 5 wide

Quarters - 3 deep man. There's also a zone play that uses a contain on the DE's that helps stop any scrambling.

Re: 5 wide

Overall, it's basically unstoppable. If someone wants to run it enough times, they will make it work. Quarters is best shot but it's always going to be a threat. Play zone and pray.

Re: 5 wide

Don't play zone against 5 wide. Play straight man defense using the dime defense with the two safeties covering over the top in zone. Your MLB must be quick. He will play the slowest WR in the slot. Make sure you set your d-line to rush outside so you can get pressure and the QB can't scramble. Make sure you bump the WR’s off the line. Then you control one of your safeties to watch for slants over the middle. The QB will force it and you will pick it every time or get a sack because he can't find a man open
