Let me know if I goofed anywhere or maybe I didn't understand whatever rules EA is going by for a couple of these, but I think I mostly have it.

Re: EA Sports College Football 25 Situational Position Guide and Explainer

Last year's Madden was my first experience with the situational subs. Much like you said, 3DRB is misleading, but I believe that the there are certain formations that are tied to the 3DRB no matter the down and distance. It's certainly not like the old days where that guy was always in on 3rd downs.

My strategy on Madden was have an Elusive, Power, and Receiving HB as my top three guys with a 4th HB as an Elusive archetype.

HB Depth Chart
1. Elusive
2. Power
3. Elusive

3DRB Depth Chart
1. Receiving
2. Elusive (#1 HB)
3. Elusive (#4 HB)

PWHB
1. Power
2. Next Best Rated at Power HB
3. Next Best Rated at Power HB

This allows me to get different players involved (in mostly in the right situations) and has my Power HB as my #2 option. That way I can get him in with the Package Subs whenever I choose. In my experience, most players with the Receiving Back archetype are not highly rated at the Elusive (and most always not the Power Back) archetype.

This guide is a game-changer! The breakdown of situational positions is incredibly detailed and helpful. EA Sports has outdone themselves with College Football 25, making it even more immersive. Can’t wait to apply these strategies in my gameplay. Thanks for sharing!

Definitely some weirdness happening with the 3rd down back right now. In one dynasty I was playing I had different backs as my “starter” and 3rd down back and got a great rotation going. In the dynasty I’m currently playing with a different team I have the same set up and am getting no rotation.

Good information. I was wondering why my free safety was in the corner slot position in the nickel.

What I'm curious about is this - The 3DRB will also be in some random formations like Pistol – Spread (Ohio State is one team with this).

What I would do is simply not worry about 3DRB very much and just do a Package sub and do the HB Sub package when you want to get your second-string player into the game in whatever formation.
- The pistol spread in coach mode is my go to formation and a great way to split your carries between two backs. There are two great passing plays in that formation and if the defense only puts 5 in the box it's a great running play.

3DRB therefore is useful but I'm interested in the package sub comment. Where in the game do I find package subs? Formaton subs were in NCAA 14 but I was unaware there were in CFB25.
