Browns ’smitten’ over QB Sanchez

Posted: Around The Web | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Brady Quinn, Cleveland Browns, Derek Anderson, Mark Sanchez
The Browns are headed for a quarterback competition with Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson. How about adding one more quarterback to the mix? The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that the Browns are “smitten” over QB Mark Sanchez and that it wouldn’t be a surprise to some if the team took the former USC signal caller with the fifth pick in the draft. Of all draft day surprises over the years, the Browns picking Sanchez would certainly be an all-time stunner.
The Dealer is reporting that the Browns brass isn’t particularly impressed with Quinn or Anderson. But making a move for a quarterback, with so many other needs, would be quite a leap. Especially when you consider that Quinn has never really been given a chance to prove himself on the field.

Simply stupid imo to spend another top pick on a QB when you've got two that you aren't certain of. Plus they just traded away K2 and seem to want to get rid of Braylon. Who's the QB going to throw the ball to?

The Dolphins changed things up with the wildcat last year. This year it'll be the Browns throwing a 3 headed monster out there with Quinn, Anderson, and Sanchez out on the field at the same time. Might as well pick up Vick, then they can play 4 QB's and at least one will be athletic.

Seriously there is no way they take Sanchez, unless they can get a 1st for Anderson or Quinn. Starting over with a new QB would set this team back an incredible amount. Especially considering last year I thought they liked both their QB's. Spend the picks elsewhere and give Anderson or Quinn a chance to develop.

Just figure out who your QB is between Quinn and Anderson. Drafting Sanchez would be a huge mistake when there are so many other areas that need improved. This team can win with either QB. They need some defensive playmakers to get the offense the ball more. Trading Edwards would be stupid as well.

I can't exactly say it's a "mistake" if the coach(s)/managment aren't comfortable with the QB situation as it is but I'm not sure I'd be doing it unless I had a trade locked in for Quinn or Anderson
