Because that thread has fallen off the rails:
Nominating: Happy Gilmore, the Breakfast Club? Bruce Almighty???
And vetoing: Seven, The Thing? Star Wars??
My head hurts. These are the people that make Meet the Spartans and Pirates of the Caribbean hits. And people vetoing movies that they haven't even heard of? that aint right.
I present my own top 100 movies, In no particular order(well, somewhat alphabetical).
Ive starred some unknowns and older films that people might not have seen, check 'em out.

I think The Breakfast Club is a valid selection. Its the ultimate teen/coming of age film from the 80s and that decade had quite a bit of those.
Happy Gilmore and Bruce Almighty? Not so much. They're good comedies, but there are a lot better ones out there.

PS:
I could see vetoing A New Hope if somebody were to nominate Empire.
I don't think Meet the Spartans should be in the same sentence as PotC, no matter how bad the last two films of that series was. The first one was pretty good (nothing groundbreaking), but Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow is fantastic to watch.
I do agree that vetoing a movie you haven't seen is kind of ridiculous.

Id argue Sixteen candles is the far superior effort over breakfast, a hell of a lot funnier too
