1. $900,000,000 for hamas controlled Palestine. (Guess our economy recovered when I wasn’t looking and we've got money to burn (and hamas stopped being terrorist too! Fantastic!!))
2. A carbon tax on coal, which provides 54% of our power. Which will not only bankrupt the coal industry (something obama said he wanted to do) but, with out a doubt lead to even greater economic disaster. Maybe well run this country on the power of ‘Hope’.
3. $4,200,000,000 for the convicted felons at Acorn.
4. $300,000 for new cars for congress.
5. Blaming lenders for the credit crisis because they lent money to people who couldn’t afford it, then having federally subsidized lower lending standards. (the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results). Yes, our president really is that un-informed.
6. Saying (read: lying) this: "I'm proud that we passed the recovery plan free of earmarks, and I want to pass a budget next year that ensures that each dollar we spend reflects only our most important national priorities."

7. Getting rid of the missile defense systems in Poland so the Russians can ‘help’ us with Nuclear armed Iran. Isn't that akin to asking a drug dealer to help you get rid of the crack heads?
8. A trillion $ tax hike. “But I'm getting a tax break” sure you are, but investors and small business, the people that keep this economy running and employee 80%+ of the people in this country aren’t. And guess who employees you, or your family, or your neighbors.
And, of course, repealing our 2nd amendment rights.

I am not trying to make this a very political post but the 2nd Amendment, is open for interpretation, 1) that only the militia can bear arms, or 2) if civilians can bear arms. If you go with the first, than no civilians are technically allowed to bear arms. The actual phrase, "bear arms" dates back quite a while ago and was defined as "to serve a soldier". Now if you agree with the 2nd interpretation then yeah, civilians are allowed to have them.
Obama is seeking to eliminate Assault Rifles, which I do agree with. I feel assault rifles should not be finding their ways onto the streets. Just recently in Chicago, and I might be forgetting details, but as i remember, since the new year this happened. A drive by shooting was conducted in which an assault rifle opened fire outside a high school. I personally do think these need to be taken off the streets. I might be wrong but I do not think Obama has expressed a want to eliminate all other types of guns, but if you have evidence of it I am open to it.
I feel assault rifles have no purpose for being on the streets. Just my 2 cents.

I'm fine with removing assault rifles. It would be more of a band-aid fix though.

1. Dont listen to Limbuagh, never have.
2. Speak to the issues, If your capable.......
Goalout13 - I wonder how that gun was obtained? in Chicago, with some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation? Do you really think once these weapons are outlawed (as they are in Chicago) that drug dealers and gang members still wont have and use them?
And if you believe this isnt a stepping stone to further restrictions on firearms your kidding yourself.

I will just comment on the Hamas/Palestine issue. I think the Palesitinians deserve support. However, I don't think any money should be given to Hamas until they recognize Israel's right to exist. They are a terrorist organization imo and don't deserve money unless they change their policies.
Obama needs more time to be judged though. Bush was a disaster for 8 years.

I don't think that drug dealers and gang members will not attain them and use them, but I would like to think that maybe by making them outlawed it would somehow reduce the numbers that find the streets in the future. Maybe it's a little wishful thinking really but I just don't see why they should be available.

Maybe I misphrased that, even looking back I am confusing myself on how I said it. What I meant was, I know they will still find ways to get their hands on them. I know that they can and will. And I know they can and will be used. Sorry for the poor phrasing.
Also, I have a question for you. How do you feel about the news of the reversal of Bush's policy on stem cell research? I guess this is more of an ethics related issue however, so this is more of where you stand on the policy of stem cells.

Thanks for clarifing, Goal.
Im pleased with the stem cell research reversal. believe me, Ive no love for the 'christian right' and their focus on morality. Govt intrusion into anyones freedoms be they moral, personal, or monitary is apalling.
Rudyjuly2: Hamas, nor any Muslim nation or group will never recognize Jews, much less a jewish state, right to exsist.
as for judging him to soon... allow me to paraphrase bob dylan - 'I dont need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows'

I shook my head so many times prior to this past election each and every time a liberal Obama lover actually shed a tear when they listened to Obama speak his BS about 'Change'. People are just stupid, plain and simple.
