Now in the real life NFL, the owners opted out of the CBA this past year leaving the 2010 season uncapped. In addition to the uncapped season players now how to be on a team for an extended amount of time as a restricted free agent instead of an unrestricted free agent in which any team can propose an offer without giving up a compensatory pick.
In Madden, we all want unrestricted free agency in our franchises, but how do the developers go about this? Here are a few possible options:

Give us the previous CBA, in which there is a salary cap, a minimum salary and a minimum 3 (or 4) years on a team before becoming an unrestricted free agency.
Give us the current uncapped CBA with a 6 year minimum on becoming an unrestricted free agent
Give us the option of creating our own CBA with an option to change it every 5 maybe 6 years

What do you guys think? and are there any other options you can think of?

I am just going to turn off my cap. I assume when the NFL gets a new BAG we won't really notice much change.

I would turn off my cap too, but then there is no sense of budgeting that needs to be done at all. With the cap off it would be cool to see the owners of teams giving you a limit of what you can spend. The more you win the more your limit goes up. Or maybe after a ton of bad seasons you could see the owner giving you a large increase in budget because he wants results now.

I guess that sorta leads into a "goals" need for franchise mode.

I'll probably just leave the cap in place. I fully expect some form of a new CBA to be together before the end of next season. The NFL has to realize how dumb it would be to follow the MLB and NBA examples that made football America's favorite sport. It would be suicide.
