Minnesota Timberwolves Association (Rider comes home)

Let me start by introducing myself, my name is AJ and I have been a Timberwolves fan since 1996, although my favourite player has always been Isaiah Rider, I didn't officially start cheering for the Wolves until Garnett came on the scene. Anyway the important thing you need to know is that I am a fan of Isaiah "JR" Rider and his East Bay Funk Dunk, so I decided I wanted to bring him back to his hey days. I went onto 2Kshare and found a relatively decent created version of this dunk machine and downloaded him to my roster. Now it's time to start an association. I added him to the Wolves and then created the association.

Taking over as General Manager the first order of business was to shape this team a little more and cut down on some salary (mostly because I know it's going to be costly re-signing Love and Beasley - thankfully Rider is on a 3 or 5 year contract, rated 81 overall current salary of $5mil) and to get young.

I started out with, Jonny Flynn, Luke Ridnour, Sebastian Telfair, Isaiah Rider, Martell Webster, Wesley Johnson, Lazar Heyward, Wayne Ellington, Michael Beasley, Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph, Anthony Tolliver, Nikola Pekovic & Darko Milicic.

I try to roll with only 12 on the roster, as I often hardly use anyone beyond 10 men and thus no use carrying any extra salary than necessary. I've decided I want to keep Bassy to backup Flynn, simply because I like the dude. This means Ridnour has to go. I put Ridnour, Darko and Lazar into the trade finder to see what I could get for them. There were heaps of deals I did not like, however the Clippers offered me Bledsoe and Deandre Jordan for those three players PLUS my 2012 1st round draft pick (which really belongs to them anyway), so I took that with the hopes of re-signing Jordan to a not too expensive deal at the end of the year.

With Rider in the lineup and Martell as 6th man and Wesley Johnson needing minutes to develop there really wasn't room for Ellington either, so I packaged him with Tolliver and the Kings offered me Marquis Daniels and their 2012 2nd round draft pick. I took that on as Daniels is an expiring contract and I am considering seeing what is available in free agency in terms of a better backup to the backups (I'm thinking Rashad McCants), in which case I will make Daniels inactive.
