Rays Win! Rays Win! This should have been the headline for the tremendous rally the Tampa Bay Rays put together Saturday afternoon. The show was stolen, however, by the many fans who decided to inflict violence upon each other after the Rays managed to blow their early 5-1 lead. In the 6th inning when the Rays' pitching fell apart, fans all over the Trop decided it was time to devastate each other with cowbells.
"It was utter nonsense," Evan Longoria commented. "Cowbells are for music and ringing, not senseless violence. In a way, though, I appreciate their dedication to the team and their willingness to do anything for us to get the win."
It was quite the scene, with security seemingly doing nothing to stop the antics.
"Well, it's our job to give the people what they want," the lead security guard Max Thurmond said. "If they want to injure each other, then so be it. They probably deserve it anyway."
It was just a good thing it was a small crowd (under 20,000), so the majority of Tampa area citizens were not injured.
As for the game, the ending was incredible and words do not do it justice. The play of the game came in the top of the 8th inning when Manny Ramirez (yes, that Manny Ramirez) gunned down Jim Thome (yes, that Jim Thome) trying to score from 3rd on an attempted sacrifice fly. Nobody is really sure how Manny caught the ball, let alone remembered to throw it in. To throw him out was just too much for many fans to handle.
Here's a highlight recap of this incredible game.

We hope for more excitement and less violence in the final game of this 4 game series.
