Paul leaves game due to injury, but Hornets still roll

Chris Paul early in the first quarter drove to the hoop, spun, and put up a circus shot that found the net while being fouled, which brought the sellout crowd of New Orleans Arena to their feet. Their adulation turned quickly to worry as Paul did not get up, instead he writhed on the ground in agony. Enter, Goran Dragic, a backup point guard who only averaged around 10 mpg coming into the game, yet you wouldn't think that after watching Dragic command the floor in the Hornets 111-90 win over the West's top team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Goran Dragic and Marcus Thornton stepped up for the Hornets as both scored in double figures (16 and 38 respectively), while Goran Dragic also added 13 assists for his first double-double of the season. Baron Davis put 19 points and 15 asts in a loss for the Timberwolves. The loss drops the Timberwolves to 16-8, while the critical win for the Hornets gives them a 14-10 records entering the home stretch of the 2011-2012 season.
