Would someone please side with me or help me to understand this?

So I'm watching ESPN and Big Ben for the Steelers wants Roger Goodell to reduce his suspension 3 game instead of the 6 he has now. I don't have an opinion of the QB as a whole but this is not his 1st mistake if you call it that. Pretty serious allegations if I remember correctly to. I do however like Roger Goodell for the way he goes about his business and that being the integrity of the NFL. I'm not saying you have to make an example of Big Ben he'll make one of himself. I don't care if he was guilty or not. He obviously doesn't understand how to stay out of trouble. Let it be a lesson to him. This all happened in the offseason when there's like nothing else to do. To that I say you follow through with the 6 games and if he's a good enough quality guy he'll be a model citizen from here on out. If not he'll be out of football because Goodell won't tolerate it and I applaud him for his stance on cleaning up football.

The only thing holding him back is he was not convicted otherwise he would probablyt be suspended for a lot longer. He seemed like a stand up guy but he puts himself in too many bad situations...

The suspension will never be reduced to 3 games. Goodell is trying to clean up the NFL, and reducing it half of the sentence will put a bad taste in people's mouths and perceptions. He will maybe get it lowered to 5 and even maybe 4, because of the "good" conduct, but there is not a snowball's chance in hell it gets lowered to 3.

I suppose I am probably the minority here, but I question why the NFL suspended him in the first place. Since their was no conviction, all he really did was have sex with someone. There was no forcing of sex, and if she hadn't have decided to press apparently bogus charges no one would be the wiser. I mean if they suspended everyone who had sex in the off-season, their would be no NFL. Yeah, he's had his issues, but is having sex in the off-season a suspendable offence?? By suspending him the NFL basically said "Yeah, we really believe Ben could be a rapist, so we'll suspend him" Again, just my opinion.
