Ok Bought the new NHL 11 game and all I cans say is ho Hum

I think my problem is I'm burned out having played so many games. So I did my profile and I'm the Spitfires and we win the what is it? Memorial Cup. Very nice. So in amongst all that I was told I'd be drafted between 1-7. Had such a good run was drafted 1st by none other than the Blue Jackets. Kind of a hard team to get excited about but so be it. We won our 1st pre season game and thats where I stopped for the night. Now as for the game play. The bone crunching hits,VERY NICE. Some of the boarding calls hmmmm not so sure but some are just down right ugly. Ok so thought I'd try the GM mode as well but had to put the game down as I'm tired. Probably 1st thing in the morning though. Looking at it though not sure if I want to play the GM mode. At least with BAP mode ya feel like part of the game. Was not able to use the 1st 2 features on there as they require you to have an online account and I don't have access to that so bummer there as I thought would've been cool. Not exactly sure what to say. Some nice features but maybe once my BAP mode/season starts I'll get into it. What's everyone else's take on the game?

As usual NHL is solid. The AI is vastly superior to EA's football games. I wish all other sports games had a "CPU learning" slider like NHL. The AI consistently takes away my bread-and-butter moves.

Another 10 days until the game is released in the UK. I'm not expecting any big changes from last year.

I'm really surprised at the "ho hum" reaction that some people are having to NHL 11. To me it's miles ahead of NHL 10 and is easily the best in the series. So many gameplay tweaks have been made since 10, it's nuts. Not sure why people don't seem to be noticing.. Maybe try to play a few games of 10 and then pop 11 in?

Yeah, I agree. NHL 11 is FAR more engaging and the core hockey game is vastly supperior to NHL 10, which is really saying something becasue that game was really good. One small example: In NHL 10, at least for me, I was always able to play with the maximum forecheck, and I seldomly gave up an odd man rush. Now, with NHL 11 and using the same strategy, I was giving up 2 and 3 on 1's quite often. Not to mention, I was actually producing quite a few turnovers using the maximum forecheck (all-star).... So, I'm noticing that (much more than ever before) strategy options really impact the game.

Sorry all kinda crabby lately.Getting over this surgery and continuing to do nothing and with no job is having an adverse reaction with me. Played the NHL 11 and no doubt it's a great game. Actually having some success with it as well.
