Months seemed to go by quick, though I didn't play for hours every night there were some good sessions of hockey.
Like any team it took time to get to know the guys and build chemistry with them, not only on the virtual ice but you also had to build some trust and respect off the ice as well.
We had our share of conflicts, but it was so much fun to play that things seemed to get settled somehow and when they didn't if it was someone that was constantly stirring things up we knew we had to remove them before things got out of hand.
One of the biggest reasons for our team staying together all this time is we have an active team forum.
We have gotten to know eachother off the virtual ice and it makes it so you can bounce ideas or suggestions off of the guys and not have them get as upset. It seems hard to do that in the heat of a game without them taking it personal.
The other reason we have been successful in staying together is anyone can be the star in any game. We don't have one guy that cheeses or hogs the puck, we try to play as a team and when it's done right you have success and also enjoy playing.
Though we didn't play as much in July and August it was still an exciting time as news and info for NHL'10 started to come out and we all looked forward to what they might do with the EASHL.
We ended up with a good record in the first year of EASHL
1431-972-172 in 2575 games. Funny thing was that we ended up ranked lower than teams with a 5-20 record.
