World Series with 20 min. Prep in MLB 11: The Show
Posted on October 27, 2011 at 02:21 PM.

Unfortunately, MLB 11: The Show does not feature a Postseason or World Series mode. However, you can recreate tonight's Game 6 with a little bit of trickery if you desire specific Fall Classic presentation. Download the latest roster and completely obliterate the ratings of some of the star players of every team BUT the Rangers and Cardinals. Jump into a new Franchise with Injuries and CPU Trades off and with both World Series teams as User Controlled. Simulate to the All Star Break and SAVE (very important). Now, sim the All Star Game, and if the NL wins, proceed. If not, then back out and sim until they win.

Simulate the rest of the season and the playoffs. If you "weakened' enough of the rest of the league, then the World Series matchup should be the one you desired. SAVE again. Simulate each game until you get any combination of wins and losses to get a game 6. Set game 6 as Jaime Garcia vs. Tommy Hunter using two controllers and put reasonable lineups together. If you only want to play single player vs CPU, move one controller to CPU in the in game menu. This way, you can play with some pretty nice World Series presentation with postseason atmosphere. The stats and stuff won't be perfect, but it's the best you'll do in this years game, and let's hope they put in a World Series mode next year.

Little Tip: To save time, while editing the roster, isolate the best hitter and move his Contact ratings to 0. Isolate the best starting pitcher and move his HIT rating to 0. Ignore teams like the Orioles that don't have a chance anyhow. Some teams, like the Phillies, might require you to weaken around 5 players.

Have Fun!
