WINNIPEG, MAR. 12 - Coach Paul Maurice did lots of adjustments heading into tonight's game vs. Vancouver, but it wasn't enough as the Jets dropped another one, the sixth straight, by the score of 4-2.
With Antoine Vermette back from a jaw injury, he was promoted to the second line as Olli Jokinen took the first line spot. Mark Scheifele, who started the season playing really well but now is playing so poorly it almost hurts, was demoted to the third line.
James Van Riemsdyk also got back to the second line, with Devin Setoguchi being upped one. On the defense, Dustin Byfuglien went down to the second pair, giving his spot to Zach Bogosian. Michal Rozsival came back from the third pair to the second, putting Jake Gardiner in the last one alongside Jacob Trouba (who left the game with an injury).
It looked like all theses changes would pay off when Setoguchi opened the score with an early powerplay goal. But it was just a matter of time since all happened again: the defense allowed clear shots, Reimer allowed a cheap goal and even the referees didn't call a blatant interference on Vancouver's second goal. Well, on the bright side, Wheeler finally scored again after Lack pratically gave him the puck with the net wide open.
For the next game, the struggling Jets face the league-best New York Rangers. What should we expect from that?
