Reimer blanks Blues, records back-to-back shutouts.
Posted on May 14, 2014 at 04:05 PM.
ST. LOUIS, FEB. 8 - When Dustin Byfuglien ripped a slap shot past Ryan Miller just a minute after the game started, it seemed that the Jets and the Blues were heading to another heated, high-scoring battle. However, what happened was exactly the opposite as neither team found the back of the net for the remaining of game, thanks due to the high level in which their blueliners played.
After being held by Reimer for the entire game, the Blues launched an all-out attack in the closing moments, with Byfuglien making it even more difficult for the Jets by picking an interference penalty with less than 2 minutes on the clock. But Reimer made incredible saves and the Jets held on to beat a central-division foe away from home.
This was the first time this season that Reimer recorded 2 straight shutouts. The league now enters the olympic break.
