KANATA, JAN. 2 - Since trading for Ekman-Larsson and Vermette, the Jets allowed only 7 goals in 5 games, even shutting out one of the league's top teams. Of course, the fact that James Reimer seems to have stepped his game up also contributes to this statistic, but no one can deny that Winnipeg is a better team after the trade, being the hottest of the league right now.
The last victim of this revamped squad were the Ottawa Senators. Even away from home, the Jets had no problem to defeat the Sens by the score of 4-1, scoring 3 goals already in the first period to put the game away
