Sword Fight!

Yesterday afternoon, our beloved BQ10 was getting his lumps.

It has happened to the best of them:

Peyton.

Elway.

Even Sipe.

Notice anything in common?

Yeah, a lot:

Cold days in November
Rookie QBs*
Completion percentages below the .500 mark
Multiple interceptions.

It's all there.

There's only one thing different:

On November 23rd, 2008, Brady Quinn -- the future of the Browns, the Franchise QB, the hometown hero, our First-Round Draft Pick, Mr. "He supports McCain and hates the Gays but that's ok, I mean, look at that smile and those abs! I mean, wow."�, The Men's Health cover model, Brady Quinn, . .

. . . He was benched.

They said "Brady, we know it's your 3rd start. We know you're 1-1 in those games. We know we can run all over these guys, but we want to throw the ball more.

And by throw more, we mean throw more to Braylon Edwards. You know, because he's having an awesome game.

No wait, he's having an All-Pro caliber season.

Oh, and we want to see if that gawky, slow QB we have on the bench will have more success outrunning this guy, Mario WIlliams (never heard of him).

We know it's only the 3rd quarter. We know Phil shanked that FG -- or we'd only be down by one score. We know we've been playing Cover 2 zone against one of the best possession receivers in the league, and leaving their All-Pro Wide Out to be covered by Brandon McDonald.

And we're still only down by 10 pts, despite how horrible the whole team has played.

"Dignan, you're out."

"You're out."

And well, yeah.

That worked out well:
