So yeah, yesterday was my birthday.

Judging by the outpouring of chalkboard messages, you all were a bit preoccupied by the amazingness that is the holidays (aka NFL Playoofs and College Bowl Season), and I can't say I blame you.

And just like King James can't get a win on his, I guess we all have to deal with the double edged sword of being Capricorns.

On the plus side, a Capricorn is known to be a "leader-type," destined for success, career-oriented, authoritative and strong -- and judging from those of us around, I can't say I disagree. I mean basically, we kick @ss!

But oh man, did we get thrown a curveball with this whole "I just got you a combined Christmas* and birthday gift, hope you understand" thing.

*or Chanukah for my Druish Capricornish hens

Dammit.

Anyway, here's a quick run-down of my "combined" gifts. Just like my astrological sign says -- I like to share.

1. Nike SB Premium Lows:

Black / Atom Red. These are better looking in person.

2. Down Comforter (If you know, you know)

3. My high-school "George Brett" model Wilson fielder's glove re-laced. Crucial Gift.

4. Derek Jeter "agility ball."

In all fairness to my wife, this was a stocking stuffer, so the Yankee affiliation can be forgiven.

5. The Bill James Handbook 2009 (duh).

There were a few other minor gifts that came along . . . and a cake. But you know, at 31, gifts are only semi-necessary. I mean, if I want something. I buy it. I'm what you might call an "adult with a job."*

*Not that you could tell by that list.
