I have been bowling consistently (at least once a week) now for almost a year. I joined a bowling league with some friends and family and it has been a blast. What i didn't anticipate was the growing urge to jump out of a moving vehicle every time i see a bowling alley. I now take my bowling ball on business trips, family vacations, basically everywhere I go, just in case I get a chance to go.
I guess it started when I bought my own ball and quit borrowing my old man's. Having that thing custom made for my hand and seeing it hit the pocket is all I have been thinking about lately. I am not a great bowler, My avg has been as high as 168 and as low as 145, so i got a ways to go, but I am seriously in the middle of a budding addiction. So i ask, any bowl-a-holics on OS?

I used to bowl almost every weekend in high school and some in college but haven't been bowling in a while. It's a lot of fun and I like the challenge of trying to improve my average and high game.

Got an addict here, used to bowl on two leagues every week, one on friday night and one on tuesday night. My average when i started was 171 and by the next year i had gotten it up to 199. But yeah its a very addicting "sport".

From last october to the end of december last year me and my best friend went bowling every week. It was a blast, and I got to be pretty good at it, my highest score was somewhere in the 180's. Once he got a job in kentucky we stopped going because we didn't hang out as much. But he's not working there anymore and is going to boot camp in a month or so, so I think we'll start bowling again.
Honestly, I never thought that I'd end up going weekly when I first started, but like you guys said it became addicting and very fun.

It's too bad EA or 2K can't make a realistic bowling game with online league play.

I used to bowl 2x's a week with my girlfriend back in the day. Had my own ball/shoes and when I traded in my car I forgot the shoes and ball in the trunk. The next day I went to the dealer and the car was somewhere getting shipped to an auction. Boy I felt stupid. The girlfriend and I broke up and now I usually only bowl 3x's a year. (still usually bowl at least a 140)

Haha nice man! I have been bowling since I was about 13, so I have been addicted for a solid ten years. In that span worked at three alleys and it is a great sport. I average in the 190s working on breaking the big 200 average. Good to see people getting into it. I have about 10 balls so couldnt tell you what one I use.

I started with a Columbia 300- Dr. Jekyll and rolled my high game ever with it, 279. (stupid ten pin in the 7th inning stopped me from perfection!!!!!!!!!) But now I just got a new Storm Rapid Fire and bowled 8 strikes in row over the weekend (between 2 games), but I'm loving it!

@rbowlden - How much did you pay for Rapid fire, i am looking for a second ball that would be complimentary to my Storm Virtual gravity. Any suggestions?

Have any of you guys ever been Ductpin Bowling? The ball is much smaller and fits in your hand. you can hum those balls down the lane with ease. It's a lot of fun.

I think I paid around $160.00 for it, I couldn't really tell you if it would compliment your ball though because I have no idea what type of bowler you are ex.(hard cranker, straight etc.) I bowl fairly straight and long and there is about medium break on the back end of the ball. But the rapid fire is pretty much perfect for the way I bowl.
