MLB 10: RTTS 2014 Recap / 2015 Spring Training
Posted on April 17, 2010 at 03:14 PM.
Well, 2014 has finished with my Texas Rangers coming up short in their bid to win the AL Wild Card. We started September 10 or 11 games out of the wild card behind Boston, Oakland, and one other team I'm forgetting right now. September was arguably our best month as we ate up ground, but ultimately we came up short and watched from the sidelines as the Yankees won another ring.

I came back from injury in late June/early July and was inexplicably used off the bench for about 2 months, despite repeated appeals to my manager to put me back in the lineup (the 4-year contract I signed at the beginning of the season has me as an MLB starter). He kept denying me due to Hamilton's hot streak, which was absolutely non-existent. For proof, here's a screenshot of the Who's Hot / Who's Not slide before a game I actually got to start in, right after the manager bit my head off for asking him to put me in the starting lineup: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

Consequently, combined with the trip to the 60-day DL in late April, I only got 232 plate appearances, in which I had 83 hits, 11HR and 31RBI, for a .358 average. It took me until late August before I completed a series of goals and was reinstated as a starter. In my first three MLB seasons, I'm averaging 261AB's, resulting in an average of 100 hits, 13HR and 42RBI, with a career batting average of .384.

We have just completed the 2015 spring training. This spring, I finished with a .435BA, with 37 hits in 85 plate appearances, 3HRs and 15RBI, to go along with 23 runs. Hopefully I can carry this over to the regular season and hopefully I can stay healthy throughout this entire season.

Career MLB stats through 3 season: 783AB, .384AVG, 301 hits, 118 runs, 54 doubles, 4 triples, 40HR and 125RBi.
