I was just wondering about what would be the best way to adjust conferences in the game to fit the current model.
So the moves in real life go like this.
Nebraska to the Big Ten. Big Ten now has twelve teams.
Colorado to the Pac-10. Pac-10 now has eleven teams.
Big XII is now stuck with only 10 teams.
Boise State moves to the MWC.
Because the MWC and WAC both had 9 teams before the move, the best option is to put a team that fits the bill for the WAC into that conference from the MWC, while moving Boise State in.
Now, the Big Ten can use the 12 slots from the Big XII to fill their need. Because of the North/South divisions, you might want to just split the Big 10 up competitively because there are some teams that are pretty ambiguous when it comes to which one is farther north or south.
The Big XII's remaining 10 teams can be put in the Pac-10 slots, which would cause the problem of no championship game, and then the Pac-10 could now use the Big Ten's 11 teams slots to include Colorado. Once again, the scheduling will be a problem because of the Pac-10's round robin style conference play, but with 11 teams I don't think that would continue either way.
Just to let you all know, I am a Big Ten fan (mostly Michigan State), so this is why I am putting the focus on including the upcoming championship game in the Big Ten and not the Big XII.
This is just a suggestion, but any thoughts on how to make it better would be greatly appreciated.

i have been thinking about this as well, and i think you've got a good plan formulated... it will mess with the bowl tie-ins, but i can live with that... i think it might mess with the conference that your smaller school can get bumped up to, if you like to play with a MAC or WAC school and try to get into a bigger conference... i was also wondering if it would affect recruiting in any way...

Yeah, that's an interesting concept about recruiting and conference invites. I hadn't considered the bowl tie-in's either, but I'm assuming they will shift a bit after the new conferences are set in place. It is nice to hear feedback about my ideas.
