I'm not sure 2K13 will be a simple update or the normal new year work-up but here's a few things I need to see fixed to lay out $59.99.

Base-running:

Runners diving back to the bag with two outs! They should be streaking toward the next base on contact.
Runners tagging and going to next base are caught in quicksand or molasses and are often thrown out even though the ball was hit to the fence.
Runners diving back to 2nd or 3rd even when the ball has been hit deep into the hole or up the middle and the infielder has to dive to even stop the ball.

Pinch hitting AI:
The pitcher should not bat with the bases loaded and then be replaced on the mound the next inning!

Fan reaction:

Better dynamic reaction to tense moments. Sometimes announcers even say that "everyone is standing" when no one really is.
Better reactions to foul balls.

Fix these things and it will at least feel like a major overhaul has been done.
