Football is HERE: Year one for UNC Greensboro

AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING AND BUILDING FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!

Coach Ricky Proehl and staff are very excited about the upcoming schedule in this the inaugural season of FBS level football for the UNC Greensboro Spartans. As an independent, UNCG had two options: schedule cupcakes and lower division opponents to boost their overall record or aim for the fences and have a "anyone, anywhere, anytime" approach to the schedule. Coach Proehl opted for the latter. "We want to go out there and compete with everyone," said the coach. "We were very intentional about who we scheduled, and while it will make for a challenging year; we want to lay the foundation for our program by getting as much exposure as possible and playing the very best."

The schedule is anything but easy with match-ups against 3 of the preseason top 25 and some very challenging opponents who could definitely make appearance in the polls later in the season. This writer is having trouble seeing many W's for the Spartans. It looks like there are 3 winable games. In fact all 12 could result in L's on the year.
