Will Longer Cycles Help Shut Up Complainers?
Posted on December 23, 2011 at 08:09 PM.
UFC has gone to using more than one year for development cycle and the same goes for the Fight Night series. EA NBA basketball is doing the same and maybe not on there own will and it is more than likely that they will not continue that as the norm and will revert back to every year after they possibly get back into the goodwills of some.

The biggest question is how will this help at the end of the story? Will it actually make games better and more playable by adding to the value? On the other hand, will it shut complainers up by showing once again there are no perfect games, just some are better than others?

I know most people think haters and complainers will be just that and I agree. I do think that going to the extended development cycle gives the perception of companies trying to make a better product which is enough in a lot of cases because you guessed it, perception is reality, even if that reality is indeed false.

I don't think it will shut up complainers. Look at NBA 2k12 I don't care what anybody says this game is great and a step up from Nba 2k12. Yes it has flaws but they improved almost every aspect of Nba 2k11 IMO. I don't know what ppl expect from sport games. Only so much they can do to em. Baseball is baseball, some ppl act like these companies should reinvent the wheel. MLB The Show and 2k are prime examples of great games on yearly cycles. If it isn't broke don't fix it. All games have room for improvement. Only game I have a problem with reall y is Madden but that's a different story because that game is soo behind these two franchises not even funny.

Haters and complainers are just going to do that no matter what. I look at Nba 2k12 and I'm amazed at how these ppl call them lazy. The improvements that went into that game smh. To each it's own. I don't have a problem with yearly cycles. The Show and 2k have proven to me it can be done. Sure they can always improve but no such thing as a perfect game.
