Is there anything more over rated in pro sports?
Today was all about UF Pro Day. I listened to people syaing Joe Haden was at risk of falling out of the first round if he didn't up his 40 time. Not once taking into account his actual play on the field.
Brandon Spikes is now looked at as a 3rd round project. The leader of one of the best defenses in recent years. He might not be the guy who is going to run down some one like Willis can but he can flat out hit you. I project this guy going to a team who is already very good at LB on Def(Steelers, Panthers, 49ers) and just making them better. As a 49ers fan id love to see him there but I think the scariest place to see him land and where he would be best suited is the Bengals. Giving them Rivers, Maualuga on the outside and Spikes in the middle.
Now for Tim Tebow. He has changed his delivery and all that has been great. All you see when following football is how much he has improved and how much better his new technique is for the pro level. With all that said and for all being made of it, how has it effected his draft stock? It hasn't he is still a 3rd round projection just like before. Instead of being drafted and then making these changes he has just given him self a head start nothing else.
The teams that put huge stock into the combine draft people like DHB in the first round. If you want to see what your drafted do it while there on field.
I think the person who has risen his stock the most was Jordan Shipley who put together a great performance in the NC game after the star of Texas went down. He didn't flinch, didn't hesitate, did his job and was a solid #1 receive regardless of who threw him the ball.

Joe Haden is a playa no matter was his 40 was at the combine. Ask the Raiders how DHB's 40 turned him into an all-pro. Haden and Spike will be at least decent, if not then better in the NFL.
As for Jordan Shipley, I like that guy. He made a freshman QB look good in the NC game against the same defense that spanked Tebow.
