I like a lot of others was really excited to hear that cap was fixed for 2010. Unfortunately it is not. Ik that you can control all 32 teams and that is great for the pople that choose to do that. For me however id rather just have cap work. I am just going to list some reasons why it doesnt work, tell me if you agree.
The computer doesnt know how to control there cap. In the first few seasons it is fine because all the 90+ rated players have 5+ year deals. But once players start to decline and others improve the computer losses all control. I have seen the rams add Lance Briggs and Aaron Curry and drop there starting QB(84) and Stephan Jackson(91) all in the same year. I watched the bills dismantle there team of any good players because players like Lee Evans(77) making 14M and crushing there cap.
Now a user would trade away there high cap players or redo there contracts. I lost several role players while playing with cap just to plug the next guy in at a cheaper price. If the computer would know who to cut rather then just getting rid of there best guy when it came down to it all would be good. I dont know if this can really be fixed, i think this years team did the best they could but there is no real fix to this issue.
I have now started a Lions franchise withought cap and with a little user self control when resigning players i feel that it will be more realistic in the end. The best Free Agent was Derrick Williams(84) at the end of year one. For free agency i just use simple rules and only giving contract offers once and if they want 2 join my team they will if not best of luck on a different team. It keeps players moving around the league while the big names stay in place.

I enjoy trying to stay under the cap etc.. however I might just set my own personal budget and turn off the cap.
