MLB 14 Road to the Show Introduction
Posted on May 22, 2014 at 01:25 AM.
May 15th. What makes this day so special is it is the day I returned to the Playstation brand after spending the last generation with Microsoft. Before that, I had the original PS, and the PS2. My first and last experience with The Show was WAAAAY back in 2006. May 15th is also the day I once again played The Show for the first time since. So without further ado....

Got drafted by the Brewers in the 2nd round as a 3B. I was in AA about a month and a half before being called up to AAA Nashville.

In AAA, I kind of struggled, but I was able to get a run going at the end of the season. I ended up batting .252 I believe.

After my first season, I made the 40-man roster, and was promoted to the Brewers bench. Unfortunately, I was made the PH guy and made an estimated 7 starts during my first MLB season because of Aramis Ramirez having the job at third. I requested a trade a few times, but nothing ever came of it.

I batted .240 with 2 HRs, and had less than 20 RBIs. We ended up winning the division and also had the best record in the majors. The Cardinals won their Wild Card game, and went on to face us. The series went to the decisive game 5 where we came up short and ended our season. The Nationals beat the Orioles to win their first World Series.

I was offered a $500k contract with the Brew Crew for the same job as last year. I pretty much simmed through Spring Training, only stopping to do the training offered. Once Spring Training was completed, both Ramirez and I had a 76 overall, but nonetheless, I was still assigned to bench/PH duty. In my 4th game and at-bat of the season, I was able to get my first hit of the year, which would also be a HR that ultimately won the game against the Reds. Hopefully, I'll get out of this bench role soon ...or traded to a team that needs a 3B.

In the meantime, hit me up on PSN at CutthroatTyler. I'm new, so I don't have any friends yet. Also, give me a follow on Twitter.

Welcome back to the Playstation! I was like you, I went the Microsoft route (although I did own a PS3, it didn't get much love beyond being my blu ray player) but now I believe I'm going to stick with the Sony products.

What level are you playing on? I started out on beginner but I'm blowing through it a bit too quickly and unrealistically for my preference. I'm thinking about trying the dynamic difficulty to see if it'll bump up the challenge just a bit.

Hopefully you can land that starting gig! I strongly feel that The Show has nailed the career mode that is presented here. A few little quirks here and there, but otherwise its untouchable.

I am playing on dynamic right now. It has provided a good challenge for me, so I think I'll stick with it. Plus I like the idea of the game adapting to how well I do.
