What The Lakers Need.

Hey everybody, this is my first ever post. My favorite team is the Lakers, so I may prefer to talk about them the most. Anyways on to the first topic: "What the Lakers Need."

First of all, I'd like to address the MAJOR need for a PG. I doubt the team can keep up with any of the teams with quick PGs like the Clippers or Bulls have, and that is a major problem. You CANNOT rely on Derek Fisher or Steve Blake! They are not speedy like the Westbrook's or Chris Paul's of the league! I don't know what the Lakers staff is doing about it, but so far I heard they may sign 'Sheed, which is okay, but it is not what they NEED to fill right now! You already have a decent backup in Troy Murphy, what you really need is a quick penetrating guard. They may not need to be a shooter because they already have a bunch of them like Goudelock, Kapono, or even Murphy. These guys just need to work on making open jump shots.

The Lakers were exposed last year when they played the Hornets in the playoffs. Chris Paul was tearing them apart! Fisher definitely wasn't playing good enough D because he is just way too slow and couldn't stay in front of him. I hope Mitch Kupchak fills in this void before the trade deadline or else I will be very disappointed in him. I don't wanna watch a decent team led by just Kobe and nobody else to get out of the playoffs again. I miss the championship Lakers when they won games and didn't get swept at all!

There are a few players I have heard rumors about LA possibly getting: Kirk Hinrich, Raymond Felton and Ramon Sessions. I think Ramon would be the ideal guy to get because I doubt it will take much to get him besides a first rounder and maybe that trade exception. Kirk Hinrich would be nice, but he just came off an injury. He has good defense, though. And for Felton, he's having a bad year but who knows, he may just need that change of scenery!
