WWE 2K16 is a much improved game from last year's bare bones next gen offering. We see a much larger roster, improved custom creations and a very fun Stone Cold Showcase.

But the mode most people spend the most time with is still frustratingly bare bones. While Universe Mode my have improved some areas, it still doesn't allow for the total control most of are begging for in this mode.

As a result, I figured I'd write a few ideas I have about improving the mode as a whole. Feel free to share some of your ideas in the comments second as well. And as with all my lists like these, feel free to share your thoughts on my ideas.

1. Allow for some competing shows. An older Smackdown game had a Create a PPV mode. In it there was a TV rating listed for your card after you finished it. The better your card, the higher the rating. I use to have a lot of fun creating match ups and attempting to get high ratings. This would fun if I wanted to create a WCW show, TNA or whatever. Then we could compare ratings against other shows as well as compare our PPV numbers against those. Just another little fun idea.

2. Custom storylines for Universe. The biggest missed opportunity a few years back was not figuring out how to incorporate custom storyline mode into Universe. Giving the players ability to not only choose the rivalries but write out stories that can play out would really excite us. Plus, it would have a more show feel. Things would flow better. Sure, you still can include some generated rivalries but this should have been added long ago. Also, this plays into the ratings for shows I talked about first. The better the rivalry, the better the ratings and may help the decision to keep it going or can it.

3. Allow for more titles per show. Only allowing four titles to be listed per show is stupid. I wouldn't mind having more titles. Even allow us to create a TV champ and have it to be defended on every show. More titles is better for the show. You can keep a cap on it, but as it stands only allowing two singles titles a show is too few.

4. Allow defending titles on non-PPVs. Another stupid decision here. Titles are defended on Free TV. They may not switch often but it has happened and should be allowed in the game. And use to you could. Stop taking stuff away from us.

5. Vacated titles and tournaments for vacated titles. If you're creating a new show, why must I just choose a champion? Why can't I hold a tournament on the first show to determent my champ? Maybe even make it play out to get in a tournament at the first PPV? This could make creating a new show more fun.

6. Allow for more rivalries per show. Only allowing three rivalries per show doesn't even cover all the titles allotted for a show. If you have two singles titles, a women's champ and a tag champ, you have a title that won't really have a story with it. Maybe two if you have any non-title rivalries going on. This cap needs to be larger. Three isn't enough.

7. More presentation. I'd like to see the shows start like an actual show. Have the announce team mention this is the first match. Maybe, with the help of custom storylines, you have have a show start with something that sets up the end of the show.

8. Feuding shows With the ratings idea I've had, have shows feud and even talent defect to the "better show."This could just add more to the importance of building your show and ensure it is connecting with an audience.

I'll post more if I think of them. Curious to see what some of you think of these ideas and see some of your own.

I haven't started up my Universe yet this year, but I've always been frustrated by the limit on titles per brand, especially if they still force you to include the Divas title.

I'm an old school WCW guy, so not being able to incorporate the TV title has always been a bummer for me.

I like some of the ideas like the bidding war for free agents. I could be fun. Keep suggestions coming and I'll be sure to do another write up with more ideas and an expansion on how to incorporate them into Universe Mode.
