Sadly, as games move forward some features come and go. Some will return later presented as the great new feature for the game. But a lot just disappear.

MLB the Show has had it fair share of lost features. Some are remembered and still longed for today. Others left with little notice or complaints. I will do my best to go through these features. You can add to the list as well.

1. Online Franchise – The Show 19 I believe is the year the feature vanished. It has not ... Read More

When MLB The Show introduced Stadium Creator into the game in 21, it was revolutionary. We had a tone of options and creative juices started flowing.

That first year was not perfect. How could it be in the first year of a feature? We understood and knew somethings would be improved overtime.
Sure enough, in year 2 in 22 we could finally have night games in our created stadiums along with a few other tweaks. It seemed like SSDS was going to keep growing and improving the mode ... Read More

Stadium creator was revolutionary when it first debuted in MLB The Show 21. It was limited that first year to day games and other items but we excused it due to it being the first year.
Year Two gave us night games and a few other improvements. However, Year Three the mode felt untouched. When the biggest new feature is more dino props added after a patch, you know it is time to revisit the items that still have not been added in.
1. Year to year transfers of stadiums. Stadiums take ... Read More

Back in the early days of console video games, sports leagues sold their license to several game manufactures. The NBA had at one time around 7 league licensed games. MLB had between 7 to 9 at one time. NCAA had 3 football titles. Even the NFL had up 3 to 5 games released in a year at one time. All these games were produced by different manufactures and brought different things to the table.

Nowadays we’ve all these leagues signing exclusive deals. This has hurt the year-to-year game ... Read More

MLB The Show 21 is still a good game. At its core the game on the field is rock sold and that will keep it earning a lot of praise. But once you start digging into the little things, and the little things are part of what made this Franchise stellar in the first place, you'll find some disappointments this year.

Now before I dig into these items, a lot of them can be fixed and improve with patches. But some of the items are ones we aren't use to seeing from SDS and that's why pointing ... Read More

As I type this, I realize I have purchased every Madden since Madden 94. As I type this I realize that makes me part of the problem.
EA has outdone themselves with the disrespect and disappointment for Franchise gamers in their Madden series this year. However, we also need to look at ourselves and realize that by merely buying the game we have allowed this to happen.
I have always enjoyed the series, even in the years the game was not great. I remember the old school thrill of waiting ... Read More

MLB The Show 17 is the last time we can truly say they "added" new classic stadiums. Here's some suggestions I would love to see added to the game. It is long overdue to give us some classics or even some classic looks to current stadiums.

Classic Wrigley Field:

I want this version pre-lights, with the folks on the rooftops that actually live in the building. The old, red ... Read More

Here are the top 20 contenders (5 from each league and then 10 pitchers if they go with a pitcher.) in my option. An honorable mention goes to current Show cover boy Aaron Judge as it is not unheard (although it hasn't happened in a while) for the Show to have a repeat cover boy. I find it highly unlikely but figured he'd deserve an honorable mention before getting started.

I recently purchased a Nintendo Classic mini and with it I've been able to relive the world of classic gaming. Doing so got me thinking about old school sports titles I'd want to see return. Some on this list have little to no shot at ever coming back. While others are ones we may one day see a return from.

Honorable Mention: Skate or Die

This series may not be as good as I remember it as a child ... Read More

After announcing yesterday I would do more than one wishlist, I saw where CujoMatty had created a Sounds of the Show wishlist after SDS requested us do one. CujoMatty as you know is one half of the amazing team that brings us the amazing Sounds of the Show packs every year. (A special thanks goes out to him and Lowlighthabit. You guys make our game better!)

I have already posted these below in that thread but figured I'd add them to my blog and ask others to share as well. The thread ... Read More

So far, I'm enjoying MLB the show, despite some of the issues or removals. I wasn't a Season Mode guy but I feel their frustration after the storage amount for Sounds of the Show was decreased without letting us know in advance.

Franchise Mode, while still enjoyable, is a little stale. This year I will be doing my usual "superficial" wish list that consist of just fun, more unimportant upgrades.

I will be doing a separate wish lists for Franchise to is way more focused ... Read More

In this year's MLB The Show 18, we are finally getting rain delays. But with delays, were aren't getting postponement, rescheduled games or doubleheaders. Some feel the developers don't understand why we would want this feature based on some comments made last year. While if that's the case I'm going to attempt to explain why we want this in this blog.

Baseball is all about strategy. When do I need to pull a pitcher, when do I need to bring in another hitter, fielder, etc. Make the ... Read More

A few years ago I wrote a blog about my vision of a high school football game. It remains my highest read blog entry. I got to thinking it might be time to update the blog. When I last visited this idea, EA's Teambuilder had just shown up, The NCAA series was still going strong but we sill only had the EA offerings. Now we live in a video game world where there is no college football game. Madden is the only real football out there (yes I know there are others but Madden is the only from a major ... Read More

Tom Brady is announced at the cover boy for Madden 18. That usually would be the huge news this far out from release date. That is a big announcement for EA and usually is the news when it is announced.

And Tom Brady is Tom Brady. He is supposed to be too big to be on the cover of Madden. He is supposed to be one of those guys that would never agree to be featured on the cover. But he's here and yet that's not the big take away for us.

Frostbite engine makes its debut ... Read More

MLB The Show 17 has given us a few new classic stadiums with the additions of the Metro Dome, old Yankee stadium, Shea Stadium and for some reason Miami's old stadium. With these adds, what stadiums do you wish to see them add into the future. Here's my list:

Classic Wrigley Field:

I want this version pre-lights, with the folks on the rooftops that actually live in the building. ... Read More
