SACRAMENTO - The Suns drop game one of the new season 95-90 to the Sacramento Kings. In a battle of two rebuilding teams, the Suns' own sloppy mistakes kept them from getting into the win column. The Suns shot themselves in the foot all night with careless turnovers, which ended up doing them in in a 5 point loss.

Newcomer Rudy Gobert played a great game in his first in a Suns uniform. He notched 15 points and 16 rebounds to go along with 7 blocks. He looked like a Defensive Player of the Year candidate early and often. Devin Booker scored well overall, but shot poorly from 3 point land down the stretch. Still, the two stars for the Suns came to play. For the Kings, highly touted rookie and first overall pick Freddie Staples led the way in his first career game, scoring 20 points and adding 6 boards. Other than Staples it was a balanced attack for the Kings that wore down the Suns and eventually pulled out the win.
