LOS ANGELES - The Rams got another big win to start their season, winning a shootout with the Washington Redskins 40-37. This game started slow, with the only scoring in the first quarter being a field goal by the Redskins. After that there wasn't much defense played in this one.

Jared Goff led the way for the Rams' offense in this one, throwing for an astounding 410 yards, along with 2 touchdowns. He did throw 2 interceptions, but they didn't come back to bite him and the Rams in the end. Todd Gurley scored 2 big touchdowns, but he struggled to get going on the ground for much of this game. Gurley finished with 76 yards on 21 carries. Goff's weapons took a significant hit in this one, however, as Sammy Watkins broke his collarbone on a play in the second quarter. He'll be out for around 7 weeks. Guys like Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp will have to step up in his absence.

The defense struggled again in this one, but it was both the run and pass defense this time. Newly acquired Tevin Coleman ran all over the Rams for 195 yards and a touchdown. Kirk Cousins added 315 yards and 3 touchdowns of his own, but was picked off on a 4th down on the last play of the game by Nickell Robey-Coleman.
