After an offseason saw the Nets fill out their roster with bad multi-year contracts, they traded a few of them away.
- Traded PG Norris Cole to Pistons for SF Malik Pope
- Traed PF Cliff Alexander to Thunder for C Mitch McGary and a 2019 second round pick
After those trades, the Nets made one more deal to upgrade a position that failed them a season ago: small forward. They traded Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, a 2019 first round pick, and the $4 million contract of Malik Pope to the Magic for SF/SG Evan Fournier.
