BROOKLYN - This was an old-school, grind-it-out kind of game, as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Brooklyn Nets in a game for the ages 91-89. After a strong Hawks run, the Nets trailed for much of the 4th quarter, including as much as 7 points with just 1:30 left. Things looked bleak for Brooklyn until Nikola Mirotic hit a 3 with 39 seconds left to bring them within 1. After a big defensive stop, Brook Lopez hit a jump hook against the much smaller Thabo Sefolosha to tie the game with just 4 seconds left. Sefolosha would get the last laugh, however, as he hit a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to give Atlanta a 2 point victory.

Mirotic and Beal carried the offense down the stretch, as big man Brook Lopez couldn't get anything going for most of the game. Lopez finished with just 10 points and 3 rebounds. Defensively, the Nets couldn't stop the Hawks big men from taking and making threes. Kevin Love dropped 23 points, including 9 from the 3 point line. Mirza Teletovic had 15 of his own off the bench, including 9 from the 3 point line.

Notes: Jeff Teague suffered a broken leg in game 2, and he will be out for the rest of the season for Atlanta. The Hawks went on to win game 4 104-91, extending their series lead to 3-1.
