Minnesota Twins MLB 13: The Show Franchise

ATLANTA- The Minnesota Twins came out on top in an interleague game against an unfamiliar opponent in the Atlanta Braves. The Twins moved to 25-19 on the season and are surprisingly in first place in the AL Central. Neither pitcher was great in this game, but Scott Diamond was the better of the two starters. Diamond gave up three runs in six innings pitched as he picked up the win to improve to 4-3 on the season.

The Twins started the scoring in the first inning when Aaron Hicks scored on an error on a Joe Mauer ground ball to Freddie Freeman. The Braves then came back with two runs of their own on a home run from Dan Uggla. After Minnesota scored to tie it at 2, Brian McCann hit a solo home run to make it a 3-2 game. The Twins tied it up just a few innings later on a sac fly by Chris Parmalee that scored Trevor Plouffe, and Aaron Hicks followed up a double by Scott Diamond with one of his own to give Minnesota a 4-3 lead. They went on to win by that same score as Glen Perkins came in to pick up his 16th save of the season.
