I currently go to the Schulich School of Business @ York University. York is n strike, because the TA's and some other people want more money. While I could get into the details of why their wage demands are completely idiotic in the current state of the economy, I won't.

The strike started on November 6th, and using past precedent, won't end until probably the New Year. As such, I have taken a small vacation from doing work.

Schulich has a large base of exchange students, that no other part of the university does (for reasons beyond my knowledge, Schulich has a very good reputation). Due to this, I received an e-mail yesterday, stating that although the school was on strike, classes that include exchange students will resume ASAP. This covered 3/4 of my courses.

So last night, I went into complete work beast mode, staying up until 5 AM with a brutal head cold to get stuff done. I wake up with only five hours of sleep, and see an e-mail that says "Sorry for our error, Schulich classes will start up for exchange students only. The rest of Schulich will resume classes with York University."
