The New York Mets pulled a complete 180, scoring 11 runs to defeat the Nationals, 11-2 and even the series.
After a bad showing by ace pitcher Matt Harvey, the Mets needed a good game from their number 2 guy, Noah Syndergaard, and he certainly delivered. Thor delivered 8 strong innings of 2-run ball. Most impressively, he struck out 15 batters, a career high for the young pitcher.
The Mets bats awoke a night after they could only muster 4 hits, breaking out for 10 hits and 11 runs. However, no bat broke out bigger than that of Mike Trout. In an amazin' performance, Trout went 3-5 with 2 HRs and a Triple, with 6 RBI's, leading the charge. Dilson Herrera walked 4 times, while Dom Smith and Will Metzger combined to go 3-9 and 3 RBIs
The Mets look to take the rubber match from the Nationals tomorrow at 1:10PM. Jon Lester (0-0, 0.00) makes his season debut against Felipe Rivero (0-0, 0.00) and the Nationals.
