Probables: W. Miley (0-0 0.00) vs. N. Syndergaard (0-0 0.00)

The New York Mets (0-1) look to bounce back from the Opening Day loss as they take on the Washington Nationals (1-0) in the middle game of their 3 game set from Citi Field

Game Keys: (WAS) The continued offensive attack will be key for the Nationals if they want to take the first series of the season against Noah Syndergaard. They banged out 8 hits and scored 5 times in the opening game against Matt Harvey, who was surprisingly not at his best. Syndergaard, on the other hand, is a tough nut to crack. With his sub-1 ERA in the 2016 postseason, the Nationals will have their work cut out for them.

(NYM) Terry Francona mentioned in his PostGame press conference that he was absolutely surprised that Matt Harvey did not have his best stuff in the opener. With Postseason wonder Noah Syndergaard taking the mound for Game 2 of the opening series, the big key for the Mets is having him go out there and pitch a gem in the wake of Harvey's clunker. Another key here will be getting the middle of this lineup going in the middle game. The 4-5-6-7 batters combined to go 1-13 with 3 Ks in the losing effort.
