Against my natural style, this blog will be short and to the point.
1. Stop freezing the frame during an INT. Make it a smooth transition with the camera swinging around. The freeze accentuates the time and space warps that often accompany interceptions, and having a smooth camera would make them look closer to the real thing.
2. Give commissioners full control over their leagues. Too many times, we see mistakes and errors go unfixed because the commish can't do anything about it.
3. Put in wild card and divisional tiebreaker rules. This is real football, and simple programming. 'Nuff said.
4. Make the hit stick a risk/reward option. I'm putting this in there as simple, because Ian and co. have already shown they know how to balance this type of thing with the ball strip. Sometimes you get a fumble, more often it's a broken tackle: just like the real thing. Do the same for the hit stick. Right now a hit stick is safer than a normal tackle, and has a more forgiving range to boot. Get rid of the latch-on, the skating over impossible angles, and add a bigger chance of missed shots (especially in the face of a juke/spin) and emphasize timing.
5. My personal favorite: get rid of the user control speed/reaction boost on defense. Human players can calculate a whole host of factors current AI can't even begin to consider. There will always be an inherent advantage to those who can read the game, and take control of a DB or LB and get more out of him. M10 doesn't need to add a speed or reaction boost as well. Yet time after time, I see a deep ball thrown to a WR who has a 2-3 step lead on his CB, but the opponent switches over to him and instantly sprints 5 yrds ahead of the WR, turning and waiting for the ball to get there. That's not how it happens on sundays. I don't know if this is because the AI doesn't use sprint, but it isn't right whatever is causing it. The same can be said for how easily users can cover the whole center of the field, not by anticipating the play, but by holding strafe and hitting Y at the right time, triggering a sliding animation 5 yrds to the left right, front or back. And don't forget about DE's who are mostly useless without a user control (some studs excepted). Users shouldn't be faster players, they should take better angles and anticipate. We're moving away from the "stick skillz" style madden, but we need to keep going.

nice,I would add remove the 50 inch verticals that all defenders seem to have in addition to Deon sanders on steroids ball hawking ability when clearly(5 or more yards)beaten by the wr.Also get rid of the "random" bad throw. Its hard enough already and then we have to deal with this other stuff on top of that. All linebackers cannot cover...

Strong points. I'm a huge fan of expanded admin and general league features. One I'd add is the ability to practice and even play scrum games using our league teams--that way it keeps you in contact with yuor team and in a good groove,

For #1, how about not even a camera switch, just start running back in the other direction? That would make it even more like a real game. Agreed about getting rid of the freeze frame as well. Save that kind of effect for the highlights/instant replay.
