Baylor put on a dominating performance against an overly matched Rice squad. The Bears ran the ball to perfection and then passed the ball to perfection as well. Robert Griffin III once again earned player of the game honors for his team. However, this should have been the score for Baylor as they will now go into the heart of the Big XII play and will play much better defenses.
Baylor came to a harsh awakening on Saturday: they are nothing without Robert Griffin III. Griffin, after being sacked in the 3rd quarter left the game with a mild concussion and did not return. Back up QB B. Petty took to the field to try and sustain Baylor but he was unsuccessful for the most part. In the Autzen Zoo, Oregon was upstaged by Nevada. Nevada came out of the gates early and dominated, leading 28-3 at halftime. That was all the Wolfpack needed as Oregon didn't even come close to sniffing the lead in this unbelievable upset.
In a complete and total dominating performance, Alabama defeated Penn State in Happy Valley by the score of 48-17. AJ McCarron proved that he is the number one man at Alabama, contributing 4 TDs. It doesn't appear that anyone will stop the Tide from rolling this year.
Some surprises after Week 1. Oregon beat LSU and moved up to #3. South Carolina was shocked by East Carolina and fell 10 spots to #23 and TCU was upset by now #25 Baylor and fell to #24.
New Baylor Bears Offensive Coordinator began the year off correctly by defeating former Southwestern Conference rival and #14 ranked TCU Horned Frogs by a score of 28-19.
