Saints are finished...
Posted on December 21, 2009 at 12:54 AM.
In my humble opinion, I believe the saints are finished. Here's why...

If you look at the last 7 weeks of football (with the exception of the New England game), the saints have struggled. I've said for weeks that the only shot the Saints had to win the superbowl, were if they went undefeated the entire season. Now that they've lost, saint's fans can fully expect to lose 2 of the next 3 games....... I guarantee one will be in the first round of the playoffs. Here's what I see...... the saints inch out a win against tampa, lose to carolina, get the bye, and lose at home to Green Bay. BTW- the injured players coming back for the saints will have minimal impact in the playoffs. It takes a good 3 weeks to get back into the groove of things, and this will surely disrupt the saints sliding chemistry

Once again... keep in mind yours truly picked the bengals vs cardinals for your 2010 superbowl!

Dude, Minnesota just lost to Carolina, Oakland bet Denver...I respect your opinion but Dallas is a streaky team and the Saints meet them while they were fighting for there playoff life not to mention several jobs...its just one game.

I still think the Cardinals or Vikings have a better shot at the Super Bowl but, the Saints still are a serious threat. The Bengals are starting to fade IMO. Colts vs. Vikings.

Not a Saints *****, I just love the NFL, and more importantly......I call it how I see it. Tampa and Carolina had big wins last week and it is no guarantee that N.O. will bounce back from the loss to Dallas (they haven't did that this year). 99% of sports is all mental, and what tends to happen when teams play an undefeated team is that the opposing team magnifies the undefeated team's greatness. The only exception to the rule is when said undefeated team plays a team that they are familiar with (divisional opponent). The Saints no longer have their undefeated allure and they have two divisional opponents on the horizon. This is not an excellent way to transition into the playoffs, and this will ultimately be the saints downfall.

I think the Saints are going to be rejuvenated. They don't have to listen to all the garbage about going undefeated and can now concentrate on the task at hand. They can now concentrate on correcting their flaws and winning the Super Bowl.

Tracy Porter + Jabari Greer + Darren Sharper + Vilma = pretty good better defense. But having Greer hurt is KILLING us.. but we're 13-1.. and half of those came with a depleted defense. Now that we got a loss out of the way, they can focus better on the playoffs and not worry about going undefeated. I've been a Saints fan my entire life.. I think they got a great shot in the playoffs.. will they win it all? who knows man. they have about 5-6 really good teams right now. anyways.. WHO DAT!!

I agree. The Saints are overrated. You can't play bad defense and expect to win the SB.It aint gonna happen.Defense wins Championships.
