LaPointe announces retirement after season.

TE Scott LaPointe has announced his 17th season will be his last in the NFL. Lapointe has played for New England, San Diego, Arizona, Cleveland, Detroit, and will play with the Jets this season. He is the all time leader in Recieving yards, TD'S, and is 2nd in receptions.
Next season LaPointe will be the new head coach of the Toledo Rockets. "I am sad to see this end but, am excited for this new challange and chapter in my life."
Scott has played in five Super Bowls winning 3 (San Diego, Cleveland 2) and has lost the last two against his old team Cleveland in his 2 seasons with the Lions.
