Alaska state reeled in its best recruiting class to date, coming in at #67 overall. Looking over the newcomers, Its not hard to see that special teams was a priority. Lets look at some key guys:
K - Nate Clark - #1 ranked kicker in this class. Good size and tremendous leg power, booming kicks over 60 yards at Elite camps over the winter. Projected starter.
P - Chuck Bennett - #2 ranked punter with a very strong and accurate leg. Projected starter.
DE - Allen Rooney & Justin Johnson - will fill in nicely with both senior ends graduating. Both will compete for a starting position in spring ball.
QB - Tyler Mann - Mann comes in as the #51 overall QB. He possesses great speed and a strong arm. He will most likely redshirt his first year.
MLB - Charles Robinson - #90 overall MLB, great at stopping the run. His big frame, 6-2 251 lbs, will translate to a potential starting spot if he can beat out McIntosh.
WR - Marcus Harrell - At 6-5, 213, he will be an easy target for any QB. They may try to redshirt him in year one.
Athlete - Joe Woodard - Junior college transfer from Cali. Was runner-up for JuCo Rising Star Award. Coaches are considering a LB or secondary role, preferably safety.
