NBA 2k15 Hall of Fame Game
Posted on February 25, 2015 at 02:47 PM.
Let me say that I enjoy NBA 2K15. It is February and I’m still playing the game and that usually never happens. This is not my favorite 2K; that still goes to NBA 2K11. I loved the way the players ran plays in that game. This year I took a different approach while playing the game. First I didn’t play on Hall of Fame and second I didn’t try to play the game every day.

Playing on Hall of Fame in the past just made me upset. I knew the game of basketball, I knew my team, I knew the opponent but I felt I was always punished because the CPU was always in the right place at the right time.

No matter what I did the CPU would make shots, always contest a shot and when the game is close they would do something amazing and win the game.

This is the first year in a long time that I didn’t play on Hall of Fame. I remember watching the 2K streams and they said online that the difficulty level would be Simulation Superstar so I decided I would play on that. The CPU is still challenging on this level and I find myself not wanting to trade in my game.

The Hall of Fame difficulty should challenge you in every aspect of the game. The CPU should punish you if you don’t know how to play. They should make contested shots and play better defense. That is a given when you increase the difficulty in any game. However in NBA 2K the CPU opponents get smarter while your teammates get dumber.

Maybe I’m just not that good in the game. I have seen pictures of guys playing MYCareer on Hall of Fame and they score 60+ points or easily have triple-doubles and I even seen a quad triple-double. I try to play the game the right way at all times. I don’t try to shoot all the time and I try to get my teammates involved in the action.

At the end of the game I will be the guy who takes the most shots and lead my team to victory. That is how MYCareer works for the most part. Sometimes my teammates will have good games but I’m usually the leading scorer. Hall of Fame should reward players that understand the game and play it the right way. Your teammates should be just as good as the opponents you play against.

I applaud 2K for the changes they have made in the game. When I first got the game my teammates were terrible, I was terrible and we barely competed in games. In my second season it was more of the same, we lost about eight games in a row by 15+ points and I stopped playing the game.

2K made changes to a bunch of things and I noticed it immediately. My teammates played much better, they hit big shots and even played defense late in games. We would still get blown out by better teams but we competed for the most part.

I’m still fighting to get into the playoffs. As I write this we are in the 9th spot and are three games behind the New Orleans Pelicans with 19 games left. After the All-Star break we started to play good basketball. I lost a few heartbreakers; Kobe hit a buzzer beater and then Steph Curry hit one.

The game is a lot more fun but sometimes I feel like I’m cheating myself because I’m not on Hall of Fame. I want to be on that level but I don’t want to hate the game. I don’t want to manipulate the game to get easy baskets or beat the CPU.

Competing on the highest level should be challenging but it should also be fun. If I attack the mismatch I should be rewarded, if I gamble I should be punished. The game is good but I’m hoping for a better balance on that Hall of Fame level so I can go back to it in the next game.

Teammates need to play better so Hall of Fame feels better. There are too many glitches that people take advantage of to dominate on Hall of Fame.
