Where is the NBA Live news?
Posted on September 2, 2014 at 12:02 PM.
It is September and we barely got any information about NBA Live 15. They finally announced Damian Lillard will be the cover athlete and that got a few people excited but we don’t have any real details about the game. We have not seen the game and it comes out in a month.
On the other hand NBA 2k has released two different trailers, showed off cheerleaders and mascots while telling us about different game modes for last gen and this gen consoles. They introduced us to Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal. They took over social media with that “Yakkem Trailer”.
NBA Live 14 suffered last year by not releasing a lot of information before launch. They gave us a couple of Kyrie Irving CGI trailers and some dribbling. By the time they came out with a real trailer, NBA 2k released their own trailer and blew Live out of the water.
Executive Producer Sean O’Brien keeps talking about the improvements that Live 15 has made and the new animations they have added. The graphics of the game have improved but fans want to see the game. The game comes out in October so they have no choice but to drop all their information this month. We should of got a trailer in August, even if it was a small sample like 2k’s Kevin Durant trailer.
Releasing screenshots of arenas makes fans nervous. They want to see the product that you have been working on. If you continue to hide the game fans will only get angry and claim you are afraid of releasing a poor product. If NBA Live 15 has improved, show us the footage.
This marketing plan is not good for a title that is trying to get back on the market. The release last year was very bad and they are taking the same route. They have to show confidence in their product by showing it to us and answering questions. If you only talk about it we won’t believe you.
One trailer got people excited for NBA 2k15, NBA Live could have done the same thing if they actually believed in their product. They clearly did not learn their lesson from NBA Live 14, stop hiding the game, and believe in it so we can believe in you.

EA has consistently dropped the ball in regards to it's LIVE series. Shame on EA, how can you build hype without promotions? It's been nothing but Over Promise and Under Deliver with their Marketing Scheme.
