ALRIGHT, ITS WEEK 9 AND WE ARE GETTING DEEP INTO THE PIRATES SEASON!

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT THIS IS THE THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK WITHOUT A SUSPENSION OF ANY KIND!

RECRUITING NEWS:

THE FIRST COMMITS OF THE COACH FALK III ERA AT ECU HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED:

TE - DAMARCUS CANNON
DE - SHAWN BURNETT
OLB - ZACH HILL

(NOTE: SCOUTING OF THESE PLAYERS IS NOW AVAILABLE TO SEE IF WE GOT A GEM OR BUST! - JUST LIKE A KID ON CHRISTMAS MORNING OPENING UP PRESENTS!)

MEMPHIS IS A TALENTED TEAM FROM TOP TO BOTTOM SO THIS WILL BE NO EASY TASK FOR THE PIRATES.

OFFENSIVELY, THEY RUN A SPREAD OPTION ATTACK AND HAVE IMPACT PLAYERS AT BOTH THE QB AND HB POSITIONS. THEY ALSO HAVE SOME TALENTED WIDE RECEIVERS. IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL, EAST CAROLINA IS GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE THEIR HIGHLY UNDERCLASSMEN FILLED DEFENSE WIN ONE ON ONE MATCH-UPS WITH THE UPPERCLASSMEN OF MEMPHIS. THEY WILL BE UTILIZING MANY MAN UNDER TECHNIQUES TO KEEP HATS ON THE SKILL PLAYERS WHILE HAVING SOME SAFETIES WATCH THE QB'S EYES.

DEFENSIVELY, THEIR FRONT 7 IS STUPENDOUS. IN ORDER TO SLOW DOWN THE TIGER PASS RUSH, WE WILL BE MAKING SHORT QUICK PASSES AS WELL AS IMPLEMENTING MORE SCREENS INTO THE OFFENSE THIS WEEK. WHEN WE DO GO TO THE AIR, WE PLAN ON ATTACKING THEIR CORNER BACK BROUSSARD.

FINALLY THE BYE WEEK IS OVER AND WE ARE READY FOR SOME MORE PIRATES FOOTBALL. ANOTHER AMERICAN CONFERENCE GAME, THIS TIME AGAINST THE TRIPLE OPTION OF NAVY.

COMING OFF OF BYE WEEKS, COACH FALK III'S TEAMS JUST LOOK FRESHER AND MORE FOCUSED. THERE WAS SOME CHANGE UP IN THE DEPTH CHART, AND MY OH MY DID THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

JSI HATFIELD ALMOST RETURNED THE OPENING KICKOFF FOR A TD, HOWEVER HIS 51 YARD RETURN WOULD SET UP A TOUCHDOWN JUST TWO PLAYS LATER. HOLTON WAS ON FIRE RIGHT FROM THE START OF THIS GAME, AND HIS END BOX SCORE WOULD SHOW THE HOLTON WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE!

A COUPLE OF BIG PLAYS BY NAVY WOULD KEEP THIS GAME CLOSE IN THE FIRST HALF, BUT COACH FALK III HAD ONE OF THOSE REMEMBER THE TITANS NOT TO GAIN ANOTHER YARD SPEECHES DURING HALFTIME BECAUSE THE PIRATES HELD THE MIDSHIPMEN SCORELESS FOR THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF.

6 TOUCHDOWNS WERE SCORED IN TOTAL BY THE PIRATES, WITH HOLTON FINDING 5 DIFFERENT RECEIVERS FOR SCORES, AS WELL AS TRACE CHRISTIAN FINDING PAY DIRT ON THE GROUND.

THE END SCORE WAS 48-14, AND HOLTON WAS PLAYER OF THE GAME AFTER THROWING 5 TD'S AND 0 PICKS! DEONDRE FARRIER HAD 7 RECEPTIONS AND ECLIPSED 100 YARDS. THE REAL WINNER OF THIS GAME THOUGH WAS THE SPECIAL ALUMNI GUEST, SANDRA BULLOCK WHO TOOK IN HER FIRST EAST CAROLINA GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 5 YEARS!

DERRICK GOODMAN CHOSE TO SIGN WITH WAKE FOREST HOWEVER COACH FALK MADE A CALL TO HIS SON STEVE FALK IV AND ADDED HIM TO THE RECRUITING BOARD (5’10 190 LB WIDE RECEIVER OUT OF ERIE PA)

NAVY RUNS THE TRIPLE OPTION AND OUR GAME PLAN IS TO ATTACK THE EDGES AND PLAY THE RUN ONLY. WE ARE NOT THREATENED BY THE PASSING GAME AND WILL FOCUS OUR EFFORTS ON STOPPING THE RUN GAME OF THE MIDSHIPMEN. THEIR PASS DEFENSE IS WEAK AND WE PLAN ON THROWING THE BALL 75 PERCENT OF THE TIME TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR WEAKNESSES. LETS HOPE THAT THIS GAMEPLAN WORKS TO GET BACK ON A WINNING STREAK!

WELL GAME DAY IS FINALLY HERE AND THE PIRATES EMBARKED ON THEIR THIRD ROAD GAME IN A ROW ENDING THIS ROAD TRIP WITH #22 HOUSTON AND THEIR VAUNTED OFFENSE

EAST CAROLINA BEGAN THE GAME DRIVING RIGHT DOWN THE FIELD SCORING A TD, AND THAT WOULD BE ABOUT THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE GAME FOR THE PIRATES. HOUSTON DOMINATED THE REMAINDER OF THE FIRST HALF SCORING ON ALMOST EVERY DRIVE, TAKING A 24-7 LEAD INTO HALFTIME. (NOTE: THE SCORING FOR HOUSTON GOT OFF TO A QUESTIONABLE START AS THE FIRST TOUCHDOWN WAS CALLED A TOUCHDOWN ON THE FIELD AND AFTER BEING CHALLENGED BY COACH FALK, WAS UPHELD....THE NCAA LATER CONTACTED COACH FALK AND APOLOGIZED FOR THE CLEAR ERROR ON THE PART OF THE OFFICIALS.)

THE SECOND HALF WASN'T MUCH PRETTIER, EXCEPT WHEN HOUSTON WAS TRYING TO RUN OUT THE CLOCK. THE PASS DEFENSE OF THE PIRATES WAS ATROCIOUS AND COACH FALK TOLD REPORTERS AFTER THE GAME THAT HE WOULD BE EVALUATING THE ENTIRE DEPTH CHART FROM TOP TO BOTTOM TO GET THE PLAYERS WITH THE MOST HEART ON THE FIELD TO FINISH THIS AMERICAN CONFERENCE SCHEDULE DURING THE BYE WEEK.

END SCORE WAS 45-22, AND THE PIRATES WERE OUT GAINED IN TOTAL YARDS BY 200. THE HOUSTON STARTERS REMAINED ON THE FIELD AND WERE EVEN STILL THROWING THE BALL WITH LESS THAN A MINUTE LEFT AND THE GAME WELL IN HAND. COACH FALK WHEN ASKED AT THE END OF THE GAME ABOUT THIS, HE JUST SAID, "WE'LL REMEMBER" AND WALKED OFF THE FIELD.

THE HOUSTON DEFENSE ALTHOUGH NOT HIGHLY RANKED PLAYED OUTSTANDING AND GAVE THE PIRATES A GOAL TO STRIVE FOR GIVEN THEIR LOW RATING ALSO. "PLAY ABOVE YOUR RATING!" HAS BEEN STRESSED MANY TIMES BY COACH FALK III, DURING PRACTICES LEADING UP TO THIS ONE, HOWEVER, HOUSTON MUST HAVE HEARD THIS AND NOT THE PIRATES.

COMING OFF THE ROAD TRIP, EAST CAROLINA NOW HAS A BYE WEEK TO GET READY FOR A THREE GAME HOME STRETCH HIGHLIGHTED BY GAMES VS. NAVY AND THE TRIPLE OPTION, MEMPHIS, AND TEMPLE.

SIDE NOTE: ONE BRIGHT SPOT IN THIS GAME WAS THE PLAY OF CHANDON HICKERSON (STARTING RE) WHO REALLY NEVER QUIT AND GAVE THE DEFENSE SPARKS DURING THE GAME TO TRY AND ENERGIZE A RATHER LACKLUSTER PERFORMANCE. NOLAN JOHNSON (SAFETY) ALSO LEFT WITH AN INJURY TO HIS ABDOMINALS, AND IS PROBABLE TO PLAY IN THE GAME AGAINST NAVY.

GETTING READY FOR WEEK 6 WITH SOME NEWS REGARDING THE PIRATES:

INJURY NEWS
JAQUAN MCMILLIAN HAS PASSED CONCUSSION PROTOCOL AND WILL SUIT UP FOR THE GAME @ #22 HOUSTON
DARRIUS PINNIX JR WILL BE OUT FOR THE NEXT EIGHT WEEKS

SUSPENSION NEWS
LEROY HENLEY WILL MISS THE NEXT TWO GAMES AND THEN CAN RETURN TO THE FIELD FOR THE PIRATES
AN INVESTIGATION OCCURRED AND DELVONTAE HARRIS (ROLB 2) HAS BEEN DISMISSED FROM THE PROGRAM FOR TAKING IMPROPER BENEFITS (RECEIVED A HOUSE FROM BOOSTERS)

ACADEMIC NEWS
DEMETRIUS MAUNEY AND JSI HATFIELD (BOTH FRESHMAN) ARE IN TROUBLE ACADEMICALLY AND ARE PUTTING A LOT OF EXTRA TIME IN THE CLASSROOM AND NOT SO MUCH IN THE FILM ROOM (CAUSING -14 POINTS IN AWARENESS FOR EACH)

RECRUITING NEWS
BOBBY ROLLINS (TE TARGET) HAS ACCEPTED SCHOLARSHIP OFFER FROM FAU
ADDED BRANDON BUTLER TO RECRUITING BOARD #41 TE NATIONALLY OUT OF NORWOOD, OH.

GAME PREP
THEIR OFFENSE RUNS THROUGH TWO MAIN GUYS QB D'ERIQ KING AND WR MARQUEZ STEVENSON. YOU STOP THEM, YOU STOP THE OFFENSE. WE PLAN ON RUNNING SPY AND CONTAIN ON MOST OF THE PLAYS TO MAKE D'ERIQ THROW THE BALL. AND WE WILL DOUBLE ON MARQUEZ, PLAYING OFF AS TO MITIGATE THE SPEED OF THE HOUSTON WIDEOUTS.

DEFENSIVELY, THIS IS THE WEAK POINT OF THE TEAM, BUT WE WILL NOT TAKE THEM LIGHTLY. THEY RUN A 4-2-5 AND ARE WELL COACHED. THE PIRATES PLAN ON RUNNING THEIR OFFENSE AND WINNING INDIVIDUAL BATTLES TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SAFETIES THAT WILL BE LINING UP ON WIDE RECEIVERS.

WHAT A RIVALRY GAME!

NO LOVE LOST BETWEEN THESE TWO TEAMS

INJURY NEWS:

LEFT GUARD DONOVAN NOEL LEFT THE GAME IN THE FIRST QUARTER WITH HIP BURSITIS AND WOULD NOT RETURN
DARRIUS PINNIX SUFFERED A STRAINED BACK AND WILL BE OUT THE NEXT 9 WEEKS
JAQUAN MCMILLIAN SUFFERED A MILD CONCUSSION IN THE SECOND HALF AND WILL BE EVALUATED NEXT WEEK IN THE CONCUSSION PROTOCOL

GAME RECAP

THE EAST CAROLINA GAME PLAN WAS TO RUN THE BALL AND SET UP BIG CHUNK PLAYS USING PLAY ACTION PASSES. WELL WITH THE LOSS OF THE STARTING LEFT GUARD IN THE 1ST QUARTER, THIS AFFECTED THE RUN GAME AS WELL AS QUARTERBACK PROTECTION. HOWEVER, THE PIRATES WERE ABLE TO MOVE THE BALL WELL ENOUGH TO ESTABLISH A SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE IN TIME OF POSSESSION, HOWEVER THE SCOREBOARD WOULD NOT REFLECT THAT BEING DOWN 16-12 AT HALFTIME.

MARSHALL TOOK A COMMANDING LEAD IN THE 3RD QUARTER 23-12, HOWEVER EAST CAROLINA STUCK TO THEIR GAME PLAN AND WAS ABLE TO CUT THE LEAD TO 2 WITH 3 MINUTES LEFT TO PLAY. AFTER LOSING MCMILLIAN, THE DEFENSE DIDN'T LOOK PROMISING IN STOPPING THE MARSHALL ATTACK, HOWEVER A KEY DROP ON 3RD DOWN GAVE THE BALL BACK TO THE PIRATES WITH 2 MINUTES TO GO. DOWN 26-24, ALL THE PIRATES NEEDED WAS A FG, HOWEVER DEONDRE FARRIER AND THE OFFENSE HAD OTHER IDEAS. A HUGE 45 YARD JET SWEEP FUELED THE OFFENSE INTO CHIP SHOT FG TERRITORY, AND THREE PLAYS LATER HUSSEIN HOWE TOOK AN OPTION PITCH INTO THE END ZONE FROM 3 YARDS OUT. MARSHALL COULD NOT CONNECT ON LAST SECOND ATTEMPTS TO THE END ZONE, AND THE PIRATES CAME OUT VICTORIOUS!

I REPEAT, WHAT A RIVALRY GAME!

EAST CAROLINA IS NOW 2-0 ON THEIR ROAD TRIP WITH A FINAL GAME BEFORE RETURNING HOME TO DOWDY-FICKLEN STADIUM AGAINST #22 HOUSTON AT 1 PM NEXT SATURDAY!

TEAM NEWS

TWO FRESHMEN IN TROUBLE ACADEMICALLY HAVE BEEN PUTTING IN EXTRA TIME IN THE CLASSROOM AS COACH FALK III STRESSES ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AS WELL AS ON FIELD EXCELLENCE. DEMETRIUS MAUNEY AND JSI HATFIELD HAVE BOTH BEEN STRUGGLING AND DUE TO THE ADDITIONAL TIME IN CLASS, THEY WILL EACH LOSE 14 AWARENESS POINTS FOR THIS UPCOMING GAME.

RECRUITING NEWS

OFFENSIVE GUARD LEO ROBERTS HAS LOCKED US OUT, WHICH MEANS THAT WE CAN ADD ANOTHER PLAYER TO THE BOARD. GIVEN OUR PLAY IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, COACH FALK III IS LOOKING FOR AN IMPACT LINEMAN AND HAS ADDED LANCE GOODWIN AS A RECRUIT, A 6'2 306 LB DEFENSIVE TACKLE THAT RUNS A 4.74 40 YARD DASH.

GAME PLAN VS HAWAII
ON OFFENSE, THE PIRATES PLAN ON ESTABLISHING THE RUN AND ALSO WORK IN SOME PLAY ACTION PASS AS THE WEAKNESS OF THE THUNDERING HERD IS THEIR RUN DEFENSE DUE TO BEING DECIMATED WITH INJURIES IN THEIR FRONT 7.

ON DEFENSE, WE PLAN ON KEEPING OUR GUYS IN COVERAGE AND ONLY RUSHING FOUR. THERE ARE NO STANDOUTS ON THE OFFENSIVE SIDE AND COACH FALK III THINKS HIS DEFENSE CAN DOMINATE THIS OFFENSE BY PRESSING THE RECEIVERS AND FORCING THEIR QB TO MAKE AN ACCURATE THROW.

NEXT GAME IS THE OLD PLANE CRASH RIVALRY GAME AT MARSHALL, SEE YOU ON SATURDAY!

ITS TIME TO ENTER CONFERENCE PLAY FOR THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES!

MADE THE TRIP TO DALLAS, TEXAS TO TAKE ON THE SMU MUSTANGS

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE FOR THE FIRST CONFERENCE GAME ATMOSPHERE, WELL THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES STARTED OFF HOT TAKING A QUICK 10-0 LEAD, BUT SMU IS WELL COACHED ALSO, AND THEY CAME BACK TO CUT THE LEAD TO 3 AT 13-10 AT HALFTIME.

WAS THIS GOING TO BE ANOTHER SECOND HALF COLLAPSE BY THE PIRATES? IT WAS CERTAINLY LOOKING THAT WAY, AS THE MUSTANGS WENT RIGHT DOWN THE FIELD ON THE OPENING DRIVE OF THE SECOND HALF AND SCORED A TOUCHDOWN TO TAKE THE LEAD.

THE SECOND HALF WAS A YO-YO MATCH UP, WITH TWO MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME AND THE SCORE TIED 27-27 AFTER THE SECOND TOUCHDOWN OF THE GAME BY DEONDRE FARRIER (1 RUSHING, 1 RECEIVING) AND A FG BY SMU TO TIE IT UP.

THE OFFENSE FACED A COUPLE OF THIRD DOWNS BUT MOVED THEIR WAY INTO FG RANGE BY SOME GUTSY THROWS BY HOLTON AHLERS (3.87 GPA IN THE CLASSROOM) AND MOVED INTO CHIP SHOT FG RANGE.

SECURING THE VICTORY WAS JAKE VERITY (1ST TEAM ALL CONFERENCE KICKER) WITH HIS THIRD FG OF THE GAME TO WIN OUR CONFERENCE OPENER 30-27! NO TIME TO REST HOWEVER WITH A RIVALRY GAME AGAINST MARSHALL COMING UP (THE PLANE CRASH GAME)

THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC SEASON IS ABOUT TO WRAP UP, AND THERE IS SOME NEWS ON BOTH FRONTS FOR THE PIRATES...

BLAKE PROEHL HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE CONFERENCE OPENER DUE TO BEING LATE FOR A TEAM MEETING, AND DEMETRIUS MAUNEY AND JSI HATFIELD (2 FROSH) ARE IN TROUBLE ACADEMICALLY AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO PUT IN MORE TIME IN THE CLASSROOM IF THEY WANT TO CONTINUE TO SEE THE FIELD.

INJURY NEWS FROM LAST GAME, DAMEL HICKMAN SUFFERED A STRAINED PECTORAL, HOWEVER NOTHING SERIOUS AND HE SHOULD BE OK FOR THIS WEEK'S GAME.

COMING OFF OF THE COLORADO LOSS, THIS TEAM DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE DISTRACTIONS. STILL 4 GAMES LEFT UNTIL LEROY HENLEY REJOINS THE TEAM FROM HIS SUSPENSION BUT THE CORE HAS TO STAY CONNECTED IN ORDER TO SALVAGE THIS SEASON AND MAKE A MARK WITHIN THE AMERICAN CONFERENCE.

GAME PLAN PREP
SMU RUNS AN AIR RAID OFFENSE WITH 4 SOLID WIDE RECEIVERS, SO OUR DB'S WILL HAVE THEIR HANDS FULL STOPPING THEM AND THE RED SHIRT SENIOR SHANE BUECHELE (TRANSFER FROM TEXAS)
ON DEFENSE THE MUSTANGS RUN A 4-3 AND ARENT GOING TO IMPRESS YOU IN ANY ONE AREA, WITH THEIR BEST PLAYERS PLAYING IN THE SECONDARY
THIS SHOULD BE A HIGH SCORING AFFAIR WITH BOTH TEAMS RUNNING HIGH POWERED OFFENSES.

HELLO EVERYONE!

ITS WEEK 3 AND OWNER AND FOUNDER OF THE WWF / WWE VINCE MCMAHON JUST GOT DONE LEADING THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES OUT OF THE TUNNEL TO THE TUNE OF PURPLE HAZE BY JIMI HENDRIX! ITS 4:30 PM AND THESE FANS HAVE BEEN ITCHING TO ROOT ON THEIR 1-0 EAST CAROLINA PIRATES!

THE PIRATES WERE READY TO PLAY IN THE FIRST HALF EVEN THOUGH LAVISKA SHENAULT WAS HAVING HIS WAY WITH THE DB'S, SCORING THE FIRST TOUCHDOWN. EAST CAROLINA WAS ONLY DOWN 7 AT THE HALF (21-14). THEN SHENAULT TOOK OFF, OWNING THE PIRATES IN THE SECOND HALF ENDING THE GAME WITH 5 RECEPTIONS, 113 YARDS, AND 3 TOUCHDOWNS. HOLTON AHLERS STARTED OFF HOT BUT FIZZLED WITH TWO SECOND HALF PICKS ENDING THE GAME WITH 2 TD'S AND 2 PICKS. WITH THE COLORADO DEFENSE KEEPING THE PIRATES SCORELESS IN THE SECOND HALF AND OUTSCORING THEM 17-0 MAKING THE END SCORE 38-14.

ALTHOUGH IT WAS A BITTER LOSS THAT TASTES BAD IN THE MOUTHS OF THE PIRATES, THEY WILL LEARN FROM THIS LOSS AND USE IT AS FUEL ENTERING AMERICAN CONFERENCE PLAY AND THEIR UPCOMING THREE GAME ROAD TRIP.

WELL, ITS WEEK 3 AND WE ARE GLAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT THERE ARE ZERO SUSPENSIONS ISSUED AND 4 PLAYERS HAVE BEEN REINSTATED FOR THE SEASON!

RECRUITING NEWS:
ECU HAS THE LEAD ON THE FOLLOWING RECRUITS ENTERING WEEK 3:
TE - DEMARCUS CANNON
DE - SHAWN BURNETT
FS - VICTOR YOUNG
OLB - ZACH HILL
SS - JON AMOS
JUCO CB - LAMARR SWAIN
MLB - ANTHONY STANFORD
CB - BO HERRING

THE PIRATES ARE ALSO MAKING A BIG PUSH AND ARE CURRENTLY IN SECOND PLACE FOR 4 STAR WIDE RECEIVER OUT OF ELKIN, NC AT 6'2 207 - DERRICK GOODMAN. IF ECU CAN LAND THIS RECRUIT, HE WOULD BE THE GEM OF COACH FALK III'S FIRST RECRUITING CLASS

COMING OFF OF THE HUGE VICTORY AT HOME AGAINST HAWAII, THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES HAVE HAD INTENSE PRACTICES GETTING READY FOR THEIR TILT AGAINST COLORADO BEFORE STARTING THEIR 3 WEEK ROAD TRIP AND OPENING UP AMERICAN CONFERENCE PLAY. IT'S A 4:30 PM GAME SO WE EXPECT A LARGE CROWD GIVEN THE EXTRA REST TIME FROM FRIDAY'S FESTIVITIES.

THE TEAM'S MAIN FOCUS THIS WEEK IS STOPPING FIRST TEAM ALL AMERICAN WIDE RECEIVER LEVISKA SHENAULT JR BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE. COACH FALK III ON SHENAULT "HE IS A GAME CHANGER, HE HAS NFL TALENT AND MAY BE THE BEST WIDE RECEIVER IN THE NATION, IT IS GOING TO TAKE OUR BEST EFFORT TO HOLD HIM IN CHECK"

THE BUFFALOES RUN A 3-4 DEFENSE, AND AS PART OF THE GAME PLAN THIS WEEK, COACH FALK III HAS BEEN WORKING ON IMPLEMENTING SOME PLAY ACTION TO SUCK IN THE LINEBACKERS AND CREATE SOME HOLES OVER THE MIDDLE.

NEXT TIME YOU SEE THE PIRATES, THEY WILL BE RUNNING OUT OF THE TUNNEL TO JIMI HENDRIX'S "PURPLE HAZE". LETS GO!

WEEK 2 EAST CAROLINA VS. HAWAI'I:

"NO STARTING WIDE RECEIVERS, NO PROBLEM"

ALTHOUGH THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES HAD A SLEW OF SUSPENSIONS TO START THE SEASON, IT DID NOT STOP COACH FALK III'S GAME-PLAN. SHUTTING DOWN THE RUN N SHOOT OF HAWAII WAS THE MAIN GOAL AND STOPPING THEIR TWO ALL CONFERENCE WIDE RECEIVERS.

HAWAII JUMPED OUT TO AN EARLY LEAD, BUT EAST CAROLINA NEVER FALTERED AND TRUSTED THEIR COACHES AND BEGAN TO DOMINATE THE RAINBOW WARRIORS. LETS JUST SAY THAT THEIR 15 HOUR PLANE RIDE HOME IS GOING TO FEEL LIKE 30 HOURS.

KEY STATS OF THE GAME:

PLAYERS OF THE GAME:
EAST CAROLINA - QB HOLTON AHLERS (17-30, 326 YARDS, 5 TD'S 1 INT)
HAWAII - HB FRED HOLLY III (7 CARRIES, 94 YARDS, 1 TD, 2 REC, 5 YARDS)

ECU GAME LEADERS:
RUSHING YARDS - DARRIUS PINNIX JR. - 35 YARDS
RECEIVING YARDS - AUDIE OMOTOSHO - 119 YARDS
TACKLES - NOLAN JOHNSON - 5 TOTAL TACKLES
SACKS - CHANCE PURVIS - 3 SACKS
INT'S - 3 PLAYERS TIED WITH ONE

OVERALL THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES SHUT DOWN THE HAWAII OFFENSE AND DOMINATED THE DEFENSE CRUISING TO A 52-17 VICTORY. NO TIME TO CELEBRATE HOWEVER AS WE HAVE COLORADO COMING TO TOWN NEXT WEEK!

BELOW IS THE YOU TUBE VIDEO OF THE GAME ON MY CHANNEL : STEVO'S NCAA FOOTBALL 14 SERIES

WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE ABOUT THE FOOTBALL?

FINALLY GAME WEEK IS HERE AND ITS ORIENTATION WEEKEND, HOWEVER IT WOULDN'T BE AN EAST CAROLINA UPDATE WITHOUT SOME SUSPENSION NEWS

OUR 3RD STRING WIDE RECEIVER IS OUT FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE GAME AGAINST HAWAII FOR A JAYWALKING TICKET AND OUR STARTING LEFT GUARD HAS BEEN DISMISSED FROM THE TEAM FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION ENDING HIS SENIOR SEASON. THE TEAM WILL HAVE TO START THE BACKUP RIGHT GUARD AT THE LEFT GUARD POSITION AS THE BACKUP LEFT GUARD HAD BEEN SUSPENDED THROUGH THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE HAWAII GAME DURING FALL CAMP.....THE WOES OF EAST CAROLINA FOOTBALL

WELL A GAME MUST STILL BE PLAYED, AND COACH FALK III HAS DEVELOPED WHAT HE BELIEVES IS AN IRONCLAD GAME-PLAN TO TAKE DOWN HAWAII'S RUN N SHOOT OFFENSE AS WELL AS ATTACK THEIR 4-2-5 DEFENSE. HAWAII HAS TWO IMPACT WIDE RECEIVERS CATCHING THE BALL FROM THE RED SHIRT JUNIOR QB COLE MCDONALD. HAWAII HAS A SOLID DEFENSE, NO GLARING WEAKNESSES AND NO EXTREMELY STRONG POSITIONS. STARTING SLOT RECEIVER MELQUISE STOVALL SPRAINED HIS ANKLE LAST WEEK AGAINST THE TROJANS OF USC AND WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR THE BOUT AGAINST THE PIRATES.

KIRK HERBSTREIT IS ALL ON THE RAINBOW WARRIORS OF HAWAII ESPECIALLY AFTER THEIR UPSET VICTORY AGAINST USC IN WEEK 1 AND THE SUSPENSION DECIMATED OFFENSE OF THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES.

THE TEAM WILL BE ENJOYING THE FIRST PURPLE AND GOLD DAY OF THE 2013 SEASON AND FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVEN'T WITNESSED IT, THE PIRATE WALK 30 MINUTES BEFORE GAME TIME. SEE YOU ON THE FIELD!
Posted on September 20, 2019 at 07:52 PM.
ITS THE START OF A NEW SEASON! WEEK 1 IS UPON US.

ANOTHER WEEK OF PRACTICE, ANOTHER ROUND OF SUSPENSIONS FOR THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES...UNFORTUNATELY COACH FALK III HAD TO SUSPEND HIS STARTING SLOT RECEIVER FOR THE NEXT GAME DUE TO A SOCIAL MEDIA RANT ABOUT PLAYING TIME. HE IS ALREADY A STARTING SLOT RECEIVER BUT APPARENTLY THAT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR DEONDRE FARRIER. I CAN GREATLY APPRECIATE THE PASSION, BUT HE NEEDS TO KEEP IT IN HOUSE.

THEN AS QUICKLY AS BAILEY MALOVIC TRANSFERRED TO THE SCHOOL, HE HAS BEEN DISMISSED FROM SCHOOL ON A DRUG RELATED CHARGE. WE REALLY HOPED IN THIS 2013 SEASON HE WAS GOING TO WORK TO SEE THE FIELD, BUT WE CANNOT STAND FOR THESE TYPES OF ACTIONS AT A SCHOOL TRYING TO REBUILD TO PROMINENCE.

COACH FALK III IS ALSO GOING TO REEVALUATE THE COACHING STAFF SPECIFICALLY AT WR AND OL WHERE CURRENTLY THERE ARE FIVE SUSPENSIONS BEFORE WE HAVE EVEN PLAYED ONE GAME!

RECRUITING BOARD SET UP FOR THE 2013 SEASON (14 TOTAL - 12 SENIORS +2 OUTSIDERS)

RECRUITING BOARD SPECIAL BELOW:

NEXT UP IS WEEK 1 , ORIENTATION WEEKEND VS. HAWAII!
