What Commentators Would You Like To See In Sports Games?

I know there are gamers that decide to turn off the commentary. So this blog isn't for you. But for those of us who are big on presentation, who's calling our sports games matter. Yes, the gaming companies could do better with the content. But thats not my topic.

There's something about just "hearing" certain voices in certain sports that increases the realism of the game.

I understand contracts and other reasons won't allow some guys to be used. But just for the sake of conversation, who would you guys like to see (or maybe I should say hear) in sports games?

Here's some of my wishes:

NFL : Joe Buck and Troy Aikman or Jim Nance and Phil Simms

College Football : Mike Patrick and Todd Blackledge or Vern Lundquist and Gary Danielson

NBA : Doug Collins (I already love Kevin Harlan, my guy)
Ernie Johnson doing halftime (I know he's in NBA 09, no thanks)

College Hoops : Jim Nance (honestly I like Dicky V)

Baseball : I'm good with the trio from The Show (best in video games by far). But Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are good too.

NHL : I know you guys don't like Gary Thorn but I do.

Tennis : Dick Enberg and John McEnroe

Golf : Jim Nance

Boxing : Jim Lampley (leave Larry Merchant with HBO. Maybe he'll finish his thought before New Years)

Who do you guys want? Any sport.

Ok ok ok my man. I like your choices. Dan Shulman is pretty good. He's on TV right now.

One disagreement... Oh my goodness don't bring back Jim Hughson.

For College Football I think Verne and Gary are great. I think Mike Patrick might be my favourite play by play guy as well. Blackledge is good too. Musberger and Herbie are good. I also like Nessler and Griese. Lots of good college football announcers.

For the NFL, Pat Summeral had one of the greatest play by play voices in the business. He might not have been the best but I loved to listen to him.

I like the ESPN baseball guys in Miller and Morgan but I don't really watch enough baseball to accuractely comment on it.

Miller and Morgan are in the MLB 2K series. I enjoyed listening to them for two years. Then The Show came along and blew 2K out the water.

Pat was good on the early Madden games. You're right about college football. There are a lot of good ones.
