MLB The Show: What football ought to be... Stuck

Now before I start let me clear something up....I am not a Madden *****. In fact, I like Madden and think it was a big step forward this year. But.......

If you read around the forums here on OS you'll find a lot of gamers wishing that Madden would grab at least some of the ideas from either NFL 2K5 or MLB The Show.

Yes, football and baseball are different we know. But people normally are refering to the presentation, the super deep commentary, the great cutscenes, stadium atmosphere, lighting, and things like that.

And now I hear MLB The Show's demo will be out this Thursday???? Even though release is still almost a month away.

Wow! A super early demo for what may be the best sports game today.

I'm just saying....... wouldn't football be ALOT better off if Sony were competing in the sport and their football game was as impressive as their baseball???

Co-sign. I agree 110%. If Sony's efforts were realized for a football title, EA would def. have some comp. However, I would bet that the SCEA NBA folks would like the devs to actually focus on making a playable game for them first. That game is the polar opposite of the Show.

I think you really need to put Sony and The Show in the "it just works for some reason" bin. To say because they make a good baseball game they'd also make a good football game IMO doesn't jive.

As proof, take a look at Sony's NBA game ...

I'm in complete agreement that the folks at Tiburon should take a good long look at MLB and try to duplicate the presntation and depth in a football game. This article made me think about the NCAA/NFL Gamebreaker series 989 use to make. I think Sony could have given it to their San Diego studio and made something special if they still had access to the licenses.

Thanks JerseySuave4. Thats exactly my point. I know its not a given it would be great, but imagine a football game anything similar to The Show....Now imagine how much better Madden would be with that kind of comp on the market.
