Game 28 - Pineda Perplex Punchless Jays

Michael Pineda gave up only 2 hits and 1 run in 6 1/3 innings of work. The Yankees won their 11th game in a row, 4-1. Pineda did not give up a hit until the 5th inning.

Carlos Beltran extended hit hitting streak to 16 games. He opened the scoring in the top of the third with an RBI single to left. Brian McCann, who has struggled so far this season (.190 BA), drove in 2 more when he singled later in the inning.

Brendan Ryan smacked his third home run of the season to give the Yankees a 4-0 lead.

Pineda's only blip came in the bottom of the 6th when he gave up a towering home run to Pillar. Pineda would pitch to 1 batter in the seventh before he gave way to the bullpen.

Jose Ramirez, Jared Burton and Dellin Betances gave up only 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 2/3 innings to close out the game.

With the win, the Yankees move to 22-6, 7 games ahead of the Red Sox in the AL East.
