I won't buy elite/jam combo
Posted on August 4, 2010 at 02:12 PM.
NBA Jam Wii has been a day one purchase for me ever since it's announcement last spring. Now don't get me wrong I would have loved the opportunity to game against my online buddies across PSN , but there was something awesome about exposing this title to ****** gamers on wii as well as my sons and nephews.

But then it happened.... I have never embraced the 2k series of basketball titles preferring the straight forward approach of the Live series. But when sega announced they were putting MJ on the cover of 2k11 i said, " I'm in" no matter how much I despise the gameplay engine. And then it happens again! EA announces they are changing the Live brand and core gameplay mechanics to compete against 2k. Horrible decision! Why would EA want to compete against 2k's style of realism when the best decision should be to offer the gamers a contrast of play styles. For example, 2k is known for realism and knowing the INS and outs of the game of basketball, Live should stick to a more straight forward approach and develop realism upon that foundation vs scrapping the entire system to fight 2k at what 2k does best.

And then yesterday......EA announces they're bundling the jam with elite. Horrible move once again. The best move EA could have made would be to offer elite for 29.99 (half price). Jam should have been a downloadable title on psn/xbx live for 14.99. As a gamer who has both a wii and ps3, which I think is the preferred combo for gamers who own two systems, I will buy 2k11 only because Jordan is on the cover, and save my 49.99 from the wii jam purchase, and hold out for the downloadable version of NBA jam whenever it's released.

So there you have it EA, a true case study. I will not spend my money on NBA elite by any means. Main reason.... I enjoyed the live franchise and this game clearly isn't marketed to me and my gaming needs but rather the 2k gamer. On the contrary, as a ****** hoop gamer I will buy 2k simply because Jordan is on the cover, so score a victory to 2k and take another loss because you just loss 50 because I will skip the wii version because I'm confident it will be on psn in 2011.

What an *** you are, you want to buy a game because of who is on the cover. How old are you again. Now I personally think all BBall games suck *** anymore, but 2k offers the better version, but again, I would never purchase a game because who they put on the Cover, please tell me I misread your post...

Quick question, would you date a girl exclusively on looks? My point exactly. Micheal Jordan is one of my favorite athletes of all time and when you consider the fact that I'm a gamer, it makes perfect sense for me to purchase a game only because a certain person is on the cover. Ima beast as well, so just know if you pick a fight with me, I punch squarely in the jaw!

Unless Elite 11 suffers from sumthin' horrible by the time I play the demo, Elite 11 will be in my clutches, and, potentially, 2K11 but I definitely have different reasoning to buy or not buy each. Mine is based on gameplay of BOTH.
